If lesbian relationships aren't your thing, don't read. Enjoy!
Anko had always enjoyed Kurenai's company, it didn't matter whether they were lying in a field just watching the clouds roll by, pointing out extremely abstract shapes that only they could identify, or just sitting in a dango shop, munching silently -happily- away on the sweets. All that mattered was Kurenai just being there.
When Anko told Kurenai "I love you." after a cloud watching session. She had seen Kurenai's eyes widen, before the dark haired woman turned around and walked out of Anko's life. Not immediately of course, but rather Kurenai made excuses every time the purpled haired woman invited her to cloud watch, or to eat dango, and eventually she just simply stood up the purplette.
So when Kurenai started dating Asuma and the genjutsu mistress had subtly cut all ties with Anko, Anko noticed.
Anko noticed that their cloud watching time had diminished to nonexistence.
She noticed when they had dango together, once in…well never.
Anko noticed when Kurenai stood her up, for a date with Asuma… three times in a row.
Anko had always noticed every little thing about Kurenai, and when she walked by on the streets of Konoha, shortly after returning from a mission, and Kurenai didn't even stop to say hello, Anko snapped.
She grabbed Kurenai by the arm and pulled her into the alley beside Ichiraku ramen where she had just finished dining.
Pushing her up against the wall, Anko was met with resistance.
Kurenai had started to struggle, and had pulled out a kunai from her weapons pouch, ready to use it on her 'assailant'. She put it away when she saw Anko in the dim light of the alley.
"What do you want?" Kurenai hissed out angrily.
"Don't you know? I want you." Anko replied back calmly.
"Well you can't have me. I'm with Asuma." Kurenai said frustrated.
"I'm well aware that you're with him, thank you very much."
"Then why are we here?"
"I want to know why you've been avoiding me."
"I thought that it was clear. I don't want to be your friend anymore Anko."
"Well I want to be your friend, so too damned bad Kurenai." Anko said angrily.
"No, you want to be more." Kurenai shot back heatedly.
"So I love you, big fricken deal Kurenai, it doesn't mean that you should cut me out of your life!"
"It is a big deal to me Anko! How would you feel if your best friend of a decade and half confessed that they were in love with you?"
"I'd be fucking ecstatic." Anko deadpanned.
"That's-That's not the point Anko!" Kurenai let out a groan of frustration, running her hand through her curly midnight locks.
"Why do my feelings for you bother you so much Kurenai?"
"Because…Because I might love you too."
Hey there, thanks for reading :)
My own self challenge was to write a GxG fic in 500 words. Success.
