Caught off Guard

Lily couldn't believe it. Of all the things James Potter had ever done this had bothered her the most. And that she reasoned was why she was so bothered now.

She sat in her dorm, on her bed, reading through Hogwarts,A History like it was going out of style. At this point she wasn't even reading, just yanking page after page in furious motions.

"Lily?" Lily's head shot up to see Clemence standing there, a slightly nervous look on her face.

"I can't believe him! How could he? What kind of insensitive,rude...arghhh!"She flopped miserably back on her bed muttering 'how could he' over and over again.

"Lily. What happened?"

She shot back up starring at her best friend as if she had suddenly grown an extra head.She hopped off her bed and began pulling her covers up. Clemence sighed. Lily always did this when she was angry or sad, or happy for that matter. She cleaned like judgement day was coming.

"You mean you don't know?Didn't you see him in potions with that back-stabbing," Lily shoved Melanie's trunk and Clemence was certain she heard a crunch. "No good,bitch!"

"Clara? The girl with the pig-giggle from ravenclaw?"

"Yes! And don't you dare" Clemence decided she had never been threatened with a shoe before."say her name in front of me ever again!"

Lily threw the shoe under Alice's bed and Clemence wondered if she should tell her that that was in fact Lily's shoe and not hers.

"Okay so tell me again...what exactly did Ja...Potter and the 'back-stabbing bitch' from ravenclaw do to annoy you?"

Lily groaned and threw herself back onto her bed, burrying her head in her pillow.

"I said I wanted him to leave me alone...and now...now he's off with her!"

"But is he actually dating her or are you just assuming things? And why exactly do you care?"

"GOD! He's just so bloody annoying."

"Where are you going?"

Lily had jumped up from her bed and was storming down stairs, Clemence close behind her. James was sitting in the common room with Sirius and Remus and Peter, all of them laughing about something Sirius said. Peter looking throughly confused as well.

"I don't know what the hells so funny but I'd run if I was you James!" Clemence called out from the bottom of the steps.

Lily turned for second to glare at her before storming over to James.

"YOU BLOODY GIT! how could you?"

"How could I what?"

"ARGH!!your such a stupid..."

"bullying toerag?" Sirius interjected before laughing.

Remus had left the couch, taking cover with Clemence on the other side of the room.

"SHUT UP BLACK!YOUR NO BLOODY BETTER!!"

"Lily..."James began to speak before Lily interuped him by kissing hard on the lips.

She pulled back quite satisfied with herself. At least now he wouldn't flirt with stupid backstabbing ravenclaws. James sat there in much expected shock, Sirius' face mirroring his own.

"Hmph. Remus..." She turned to look at the third equally shocked marauder. "I'll see you tonight for prefect duty."He nodded, looking much like a fish out of water with his mouth hanging open.

With that she turned on her heel and walked back upstairs, Clemence laughing lightly and following behind her. As they reached the top of the stairs they heard a noise like shouting, only to realize it was James Potter jumping around the common room and whooping at the top of his lungs.

"I still hate you Potter!" Lily shouted down at him leaning over the side of the balcony.

"I don't think he cares Lily."

Lily smiled at Clemence and walked back into her dorm. Cleaning would be done tonight, maybe Clemence could bunk with Sirius...he wouldn't mind.
