In late December came a chilling blast of cold, leaving Ponyville scattering for warmth. After the falling leaves, the bunches piled, flatted out by the wind, built up again, and then thrown away, after the broken festering of heat brought upon by summer, after the festivities outside once blooming turned dark there came finally a cold, an exceptional cold, cold not experienced in the weeks before. And then like the leaves that fell from the trees months ago, came a soft drizzle, a white drizzle.

Oh what a wondrous site it was, it was something unknown for so long, but it was something so cold, so the ponies were forced to watch from the warmth of their own shelter.

It was snow! Glorious snow! A site waited by some, and loathed by others. It was the first snow of the winter, and it came down as softly as the leaves did.

Young Colts and Fillies bursting with excitement, wanting to go outside but stopped, no other pony dare go outside for the cold was far more freezing than anything experienced in a while.

The sheet of white and ice followed over the town, leaving it unable to even walk for a short while, but everypony kept to themselves, not noticing it after the couple minutes it happened. But miles away, in other towns and provinces, snow had come days ago, leaving the one special town in the middle of it all, full of magic, flying, and hard work.

Some disappointed that it hadn't come days earlier in the prime of the holidays, simply phished it away further than those who ignored it. And of course, there were few that enjoyed it, living up on the simple sight of it.

Whether it be today tomorrow or an eternity, the snow had come as expected, whether by Pegasus or naturality, a new type of weather had been established for the season, one that would not leave until a long once while more.
