Peri sat down on the mall bench outside of the gamestop, taking out her phone. As she started writing a text, she saw someone sit down next to her out of the corner of her eye. After a minute, the person gave a loud belch and Peridot couldn't help but give them a sideways glance.
It was tall woman sitting next to her. She was muscular and tan. A complete jock. Peri quickly returned to her text conversation. After she had gotten the reply she wanted, she put her phone away and looked up. That dumb jock was gone. Thank goodness.
She got up and reached over to grab her shopping bag, but was met with a much larger bag that had the logo of Dick's Sporting Goods on it. Shit. That jock must have taken her stuff by mistake. She quickly looked around to see if the woman was still nearby, but no luck. Sighing, she sat down on the bench. Peri guessed she'd have to wait where she could be found, but after a few minutes Peridot was starting to realize that this dumb jock probably would never notice the switch until she got home or something.
Peri begrudgingly got up and started to search around the mall. That chick had her newly bought video games while she had some stupid yoga pants.
Thankfully, it wasn't long before Peri spotted the thief at the smoothie bar gazing up at the menu.
"Hey, you!" Peri spat violently.
The woman looked over, "What, nerd?"
"The name is Peridot and you happen to have my bag."
"Huh?"
She fumed, "My bag, is in, your hand."
The jock looked at the bag in her hand and looked up with apologetic eyes, "Oh, sorry."
Peri froze at the unexpected kindness, "Uh…yeah."
They exchanged bags.
"Sorry about the mix up again. My name's Jasper by the way."
"Uh, it's okay, J-jasper," Peri stammered, feeling her ears get warm.
"You're really cute," Jasper smirked.
"W-what?"
"You wanna go out? Nerds are totally my type."
"Nerds?!" she spouted in sudden anger, "And why, pray tell, do you like nerds? So you can rag on them all day?"
Jasper looked taken aback, "No…? I like to have an educated conversation."
"…what?" Peri asked, more confused than ever.
Jasper chuckled, "You're funny. Here, let me hold your bag for you," she then took it from Peridot, "I'll order us smoothies. What's your favorite?"
"…Uh, strawberry?" she numbly answered.
"Okay," Jasper smiled as she went to the cashier to order for the both of them.
"What the fuck just happened?" Peri said under her breath.
Then, Jasper turned around to be met with Peri staring straight at her.
"You okay there? Wait, don't tell me you were staring at my ass," she giggled, teasingly.
And as Jasper turned away once more, Peri realized that she had indeed been staring at the jock's ass.
"…the fuck just happened?" she muttered again.
