Here's a oneshot/drabble that is a companion to AWE. ((Spoilers!)) I've only seen it once so far, so the little dialog in this may not be right. It might be written wrong, or might not have even been in the movie (especially Bootstrap's line. someone told me he said that but I'm not completely sure.), so for that, I apologize. Don't own POTCAWE and thanks for reading. Please review!

Davy Jones saw the look that passed between them.
Love.
There was Jack with a half-there sword and his heart. Only it wasn't really Davy Jone's heart--he had given that to Calypso a long time ago. But that heart still meant something, so Davy Jones did the only logical thing.
He turned to the Turner kid--the kid who was in love, who was brave and fighting for her, who had everything Davy Jones wanted. He turned to the Turner kid and took it all away in a flash. He plunged his sword into him, and not just into him, but into his heart.
And when the heart was stabbed by whomever, he still felt a grim satisfaction deep inside, and a thought still passed through his mind:
That's what happens, Calypso. You destroyed more than one man's life.
Jack Sparrow--Captain Jack Sparrow--had everything he needed in his hand. Immortality. The last thing he expected to happen was to watch Davy Jones kill Will Turner, to watch Elizabeth to race over and cradle Will's head and beg him to hold on. "Look at me," she cried as his eyes slipped shut. "Look at me!"
Captain Jack Sparrow had everything he needed.
And yet there was that thing. Love.
Before he knew what he was doing he was stepping forward, the heart dropped, and taking Will's hand in his own. He was doing it for them, because they had given their lives for him once, and they were in love.
He guided Will's hand and stabbed the heart.
Later, when he grabbed Elizabeth and pulled her back, as the chanting increased, "Part of the crew! Part of the ship!" His heart had tightened. Even floating in the air he could hear Will's scream when his own father tore into his flesh.
And Jack thought, I'm sorry, Will, mate. I'm sorry that that was all I could give you.
Will Turner had just had his entire world destroyed.
He tried to pick out the good parts of it. The ship had a purpose again. The crew was back to normal, his father free. He was alive.
Forever.
Immortal.
The battle was over and the pirates had won, but Will just stared at the horizon. His chest felt empty and seared with pain at the same time. In the quiet he heard no heartbeat. He hated being vulnerable and he hated self pity. But this was the worst--this eternal hell of staying alive while being surrounded by the dead.
Separated from Elizabeth.
Love.
"One day," his father whispered. And that's when it clicked. For ten years Will Turner would do this task, and as long as Elizabeth was faithful, as long as Will trusted her, his journey would end in 10 years.
He loved her.
And, he realized, I trust her.
Elizabeth Turner was given a deserted island and one day on the beach with the man she loved.
She was given a chest and a promise and a long wait.
And she would wait the 10 years, because she loved him, and because she wasn't as impatient and reckless as everybody thought. It turned out that falling in love changed you.
In 10 years, her one day would come, and she'd have him until her death. Elizabeth hated being separated from it, and every day it would hurt, but she had a purpose. And she would stay.
And 10 years later, when Elizabeth saw him in the distance hanging on to the mast, not one thought passed through her mind. There was only a feeling.
Love.
