A/N- I meant to post this yesterday. I forgot, so here it is now.
"Thalia," Luke said.
"Shhhh. Annabeth's still sleeping in the tent," I replied quietly.
"Oh. I'll whisper."
I nodded, "What were you going to say?"
"Well, when I went into the town to try to steal some food earlier… I saw the shops advertising Valentine's Day. I think that's today," Luke whispered.
I was confused on why he brought that up and said,"So?"
He got up and went to get something from his bag. He took out a bouquet of slightly rumpled roses. I gasped out loud.
"I got these for you," he said softly. I knew he meant he stole them… but he did it for me.
I got up and took them from him, my hands tingling when they brushed against his.
"They're so pretty, even though they're a little messed up," I told him.
"Imperfect flowers for the perfect girl though," he said, coming closer to me.
He walked behind me and wrapped his arms around me, bending and resting his chin on my head. I blushed and whispered, "Well you're the perfect boy."
"Happy Valentine's Day Thalia. Someday, when we're not on the run… I want to take you out, and do something special,"
"Luke… I'll be waiting for that time. Happy Valentine's Day."
I woke up gasping, tears in my eyes from reliving a day when Luke was alive, we were on the run, and...slightly in love. I sighed, wiping my eyes. I suppose today is Valentine's Day. The hunters and Artemis despise today; but, I could never. Remembering that Valentine's Day when Luke gave me flowers, it reminded me how I'll never see him give me flowers again, except in dreams. It made me remember that he couldn't keep his promise to take me out one day.
"Luke…" I whispered, knowing that there was no point to it.
"If, you can somehow hear me, Luke. I think I still love you after all you did. I wish you were here. Wish you could take me out on this day, like you once promised you would. I'll never see you again. You'll never see me again. I'm sorry. Happy Valentine's Day Luke."
Tears started to run down my face. I sighed and closed my eyes, Luke's smiling face in my mind.
I could almost swear I heard him, somewhere say back, "Happy Valentine's Day Thalia Grace."
