A/N: SO SORRY NOT BEEN UPLOADING but I'm off school for a week so I should get a few more up. Anyway Prompt 29: Birth
This world isn't all bad
The birth of a demigod is rarely celebrated. Their godly parents often consider them a mistake and their life will never be good, normal, safe. But maybe, just maybe, Perseus Jackson was different. Sally had chosen the name and Poseidon had mused over it for many days. Perseus. The last demigod of that name had been the son of his brother, back in the days of Greece. But he had not died young or tragically and for the first time in a long time, Poseidon wanted his son to be happy and to live for many, many years. The baby boy had sea green eyes and a shock of black hair. His smile was his mothers, bright; the kind that lit up rooms instantly.
"You are the most beautiful child. I am proud to call you my son," said the sea god in a soft voice, rocking the baby boy who cooed and gurgled in his arms. Poseidon smiled widely as Percy reached up to his father's face, short stubby fingers wiggling as he attempts to grasp his nose. A soft laugh escaped the god and he holds the boy up so that he can see him better.
"You are going to be very special, Perseus Jackson. I just know it." Percy squealed happily and the Olympian returns him to his cot, chuckling.
"Now, rest, my son. Rest and grow well for the blessing of the sea lies upon you." And with that, the god of the sea melted into sea spray.
