As Kagura lay, gasping for air and dripping blood, she wished Death would claim her and get it over with. She could not count the number of cuts and scratches she bore, and she did not feel the need to.
Naraku had called her to him, not giving a reason, though he rarely ever did anyway. Then he had presented her with her heart, promptly running it through with his tentacles a few quick moments later.
"Go." He had told her.
"Go, you are free to go wherever you wish."
And so she had taken off, her overall glee and excitement only punctuated by the fierce pains that accompanied the bastard Naraku's miasma seeping through her veins.
'I am free to go wherever I wish, I can do whatever I want.'
"Freedom..."
She whispered the word to herself as if it were something sacred, and to her, it was.
Then the feather she rode on had started dropping, ever so slowly at first, until she was there, laying in a field of flowers, causing them to be stained with her blood.
Sesshomaru, the Daiyoukai she had wanted for so long, came to see her in her last moments.
"Are you going?" He had asked.
Yet, that question, so simple in of itself, was so hard to answer.
'I have been running from Death for so long, fearing him more than anything. On the several encounters I had with Death himself, he allowed me to run along unscathed. However, now, if the only one I can go to for freedom is Death, I will gladly go for a meeting.'
"Yes." She finally answered, her voice weak, yet so determined at the same time.
As she breathed her last shaky breath, she smiled, falling back onto the blood-stained flowers.
'I have been flirting with you, Death, but I believe I'm ready to make a commitment.'
Her eyes finally closed, and she never got up again.

A/N- I know it was sad, but I seem to have a knack for writing that sort of thing. But yes, they have a new InuYasha series out, and it started airing in October in Japan! ^~^
