Missing you…

A/N: It's a good idea to listen to "Where'd you Go" by Fort Minor while reading this story.

Rin let out a soft sigh. It had been a few weeks since Obito died, but she still couldn't get over it. He had been such a good friend. Sure, he goofed off at times. But everyone did sometimes…

She had cried every night since he…left

'Where are you, Obito? Where are you?" Rin thought and looked up at the starry sky. She was sitting on her roof, legs dangling over the edge. She would do this every night, after she got home from the hospital. Rin shivered and hugged herself in this cold. It wasn't yet winter, but the nights were freezing cold. Most of the time this didn't bother her, but tonight she couldn't help it.

She let her thoughts wander back to Obito.

"Kakashi…take care of Rin for me…" She could still hear his voice ringing throughout her head. She didn't yet understand what he had meant by that. She closed her brown eyes and ran her hands through her hair. Yondaime-sensei had also died over the past three weeks. Sealing the nine-tailed fox into his own little son. Naruto, she thought his name was.

'What happened to you, Obito? Did you really have to leave…?' Rin thought. She knew she couldn't have done anything to help, anyway. The rock-nin did some jutsu that crushed the right side of his body. She wished her medical skills were better. She might have been able to do something about it.

Rin knew in her heart she tried.

" I also know I couldn't have done anything…" She knew he had to go…

Why couldn't that Iwa-nin have killed her instead? Obito and Kakashi would've had a good life without her anyway.

Her heart was broken inside. Rin felt her eyes well up with tears. She wiped her eyes in a hopeless attempt not to cry. She knew she loved Obito and Kakashi like brothers.

But her and Kakashi were the only ones left. She had come to a grim conclusion a week ago.

She was going to leave the village. She had asked the third Hokage, who had come back until they had a new Godaime, if she could leave.

Sarutobi had said yes. She begged him and begged him until he agreed. She had no clue where she would go, but she would manage.

Rin stood up and wiped her eyes once again. She just couldn't stop crying.

" I-I'm s-sorry you g-guys…" If her teammates had known she was leaving, they wouldn't be very happy.

She hadn't even told Kakashi she was leaving. Rin had chosen this night long ago.

It was February 26th. Her birthday. Kakashi had left a small gift outside her door that morning. She put it in her already-packed backpack to open another day.

Rin jumped over the edge of her roof. She landed perfectly on the ground and ran to her door. Opening her door, she scribbled a note to leave on her door for Sarutobi. The red backpack she had stuffed with food, clothes, water and the gift Kakashi gave her.

Rin pressed the note to her door and fixed the straps on her backpack. The door shut itself and she started walking.

"Im really sorry, Obito, Kakashi and Yondaime-sensei… Im sorry…" Rin said to herself. She didn't care that no one heard her.

Rin knew she made the right choice somewhere in her now broken heart.
