Together Forever

HEADS UP: This is based more on the show than the movie however, I changed it so that Angel is still alive because RENT is nothing without her.
Mark and Roger sat in the living room of Maureen and Joanne's new apartment. Collins and Angel hadn't arrived yet and Mimi was in the kitchen helping prepare the meal. Maureen was still getting ready and Joanne was double-checking the table settings.
"Hey Mimi, can you bring me another fork?" she shouted from the dining room.
"Coming!" yelled Mimi.
She brought the fork to Joanne and the two of them admired the table.
"It's so great that you two have this place for yourselves," said Mimi putting her arm over Joanne's shoulder.
Joanne smiled, "Yeah. I can't thank my parents enough for their help."
"JOANNE!" screamed Maureen from the bathroom, "Where did you put the eye liner?"
"Baby, you don't need it!" Joanne yelled back.
"Yes I do! Where is it?"
Joanne left the dining room and walked towards the bathroom when the door bell rang. "Ugh, Mark, Roger, someone! Can you get that please?"
Mark got up and answered the door.
"Collins! Angel! Hey!" he said excitedly as the two walked into the apartment.
"Hey man!" Collins clapped him hard on the back.
"Hi honey," said Angel sweetly, kissing his cheek.
The routine repeated with both Mimi and Roger before Maureen and Joanne emerged from the bathroom.
They both hugged and welcomed Angel and Collins before Maureen said hello to everyone else. Mimi sat on Roger's lap in the living room while Angel and Collins sat together and Maureen and Joanne cuddled. Mark sat alone on the armchair.
"Hey," said Mark breaking the silence, "Has anyone heard from Benny lately?"
Joanne cleared her throat, "I heard that Alison left him and he's been alone in his house ever since."
"Where did you hear that?" said Mimi playing with Roger's hair.
"My cousin told me. She and Alison were friends."
Maureen got up, "Honey, don't you think we should go eat?"
"Yes, good idea," replied Joanne.
The seven of them got up and migrated to the dining room. Collins and Angel sat next to each other, holding hands. Mimi and Roger sat next to each other and Mimi played with his hair every free second. Mark sat next to Collins and Maureen and Joanne sat at either end.
They all talked and chatted about everything going on in their lives.
"Rog, 'Your Eyes' is such an amazing song. Mark told me you were offered a recording contract with that as your debut single." Said Angel excitedly.
Roger smiled, "That's the plan. I was actually going to tell you all tonight but I guess Mark already shared it."
He gave Mark a playfully dreadful look.
Joanne stood up and tapped her glass with her bread knife, "Maureen and I have an announcement to make."
Maureen stood up and smiled, "Do you want to, baby? Or should I?"
Joanne nodded, "Go ahead."
"Well," started Maureen, "Joanne and I have decided…Well actually, Here. Let me show you."
She turned around and fidgeted a little, then faced them, holding up her left hand to show them a gorgeous diamond ring.
