A.N: Yet another fanfic-or better, songfic, about our beloved Silas. It's a prequel to 'A Song to Say Goodbye', and takes place during the movie.
Disclaimer: I do not own The Da Vince Code or the song 'Emily'. …Bummer.
Smiles and her laughter
It's the only thing that I've been waiting for a time
Remy had been partly correct. Although the monk was indeed praying, he was also musing over a certain female back in England. The one that had somewhat cured his forlorn and bitter soul with her gentle words and warm heart.
Regardless of our distance and our hope
…grows greater
Of course, Aringarosa would never allow him to grow closer to anyone-and definitely not a woman. On top of that, he was a murderer, while her…she was as naïve as a young child. Despite all the contradictions, however, deep inside him, Silas mightily wished to stay with her.
Trapped by pretty eyes and letters for all time
The only thing that I've been waiting for
How he enjoyed the times being with her..! Finally someone paid attention to him. Finally someone considered him as a human being. And when he would follow Aringarosa back to the States, her letters would keep him company in his lonely nights there.
I hope it's something worth the waiting
'Cause it's the only time I ever feel real
And he patiently waited for the special day that he would be able to confess to her eternal love. Because it was only when she touched him that he felt whole and happy. Not a useless puppet or a ghost.
Thunderstorms could never stop me
'Cause there's no one in the world like Emily
He watched the oddly group that was still busy with the small rosewood box. Those people couldn't stop him. He would escape sooner or later, and finish the mission before returning to her. His eyes fell on Sophie, and he snorted lightly. In relation to her, that lewd woman was nothing. There was no one in the world like his Emily.
She's simple yet confusing
Her sparkling eyes make me weak at my words, they tremble
She was almost always quiet around people, however, her wine red eyes shone so curious and excited about it, that even Silas was surprised by her actions. But when she would turn to look at him with those wine red eyes , he was able to only smile and let her slip her much smaller hand in his.
Days seem like years in this month of December
The winter coldens me for I have yet to sleep
It was already winter…And although October was just ending, he already felt the cold of December in his heart. He hadn't heard from her for two months, yet it seemed like years. And as if that hadn't been enough, he had to turn his heart even colder in order to finish the mission successfully.
And never will I give up trying
'Cause you're everything to me
He closed his tired eyes and sighed heavily. All he could do was to wait for her to realize how much she meant to him. The whole world…Everything.
I hope it's something worth the waiting
'Cause it's the only time I ever feel real
Thunderstorms could never stop me
'Cause there's no one in the world like Emily
A faint smile appeared on his palish thin lips. It was worth the waiting, alright. And no one, but no one, would stop him from what was he feeling for her. Because there was no one in the world for him like Emily.
