Ah, the Summer Festival. In Akari's opinion, it was the most fun festival of the year.
She bounced out of bed and quickly got ready to go. She even rushed a bit through her chores on the farm because she wanted to head to the festival!
Once she was finished, Akari walked through the town, but not a single person was in sight. Curious, she made her way to the Inn, because a lot of people gather there on days like this. Inside, Akari saw no one, so she walked to the counter in the Inn and rang the bell for someone to come.
"Oh dear, a customer!" Thank goodness, Colleen! Somebody was here! Coleen came down the stairs, flattening her skirts and- Wait. That's not Colleen.
Holy crap, it's Gil.
Akari stared, wide-eyed, at Gil/Colleen, wondering what in the world was going on.
"Now dear, what did you need?" Ok, Gil should never utter those words. It was very… un-Gil. "If you keep staring like that, your face will freeze, you know."
"Honey? What's goings on in there?" Maybe Jake can help. Yes, surely he could her why-.
He was Gil too.
As he walked over to his wife, Akari slowly backed away from the counter then dashed out the door, leaving the two half-Gils behind.
Once she was outside, she found a bench by the general store, thinking things out but finding no answers. She began to contemplate the idea that she had gone crazy.
After a moment, she heard from behind her, "Are you ok?" She recognized it as her friend, Elli, so she turned to talk to-.
Gil. Again.
Akari got up and ran to the pier as fast as her legs could take her and left her Gil-ified friend behind. Sitting on the edge of the pier, she thought that she really had gone crazy. No, it might have been something I ate, she thought. No more midnight snacks for me.
During her musings, Captain Pascal came down from his ship and when he walked to her she heard his footsteps. She turned to see (almost expecting it this time) Gil.
Without saying a word to him, she got up and moved straight past him and ran down the beach a ways.
This is mad!, she thought once she stopped.
It can't be possible!
There's no way they can be all Gil!
She looked around to see the entire town crowding around her, every single one of them having a face like Gil. They crept towards, almost eerily, not making a sound but allowing no way for her to escape. They inched closer and closer, and then the Gil dressed as Luke reached for her and-.
She woke up.
Akari shot up in bed, breathing heavily and put a hand to her head. Had that all been a dream?
Something moved next to her in the bed and she looked to see… Gil?
"Honey? What's wrong?" He rubbed an eye with his hand, trying to drive away the sleepiness and then tried (and failed) to tame his bedhead.
"N-nothing." She said to him. "Just promise me one thing."
"Hm?" It sounded like he really just wanted to go back to sleep.
"Don't ever take over the citizens of this village, alright?"
~Extended, a bit~
"Mmm, alright." Gil mumbled as he moved to go back to sleep. He wife had made him promise, but in the dark room she couldn't see one thing:
He had his fingers crossed.
