Authors note: um...this is my first completed fanfic…of course, it is only one chapter…enjoy!

First there was God,

Who loved them all,

But hated them like they were the end of the world.

Next came the Rat,

Who became God's pet,

And was hidden from most everyone,

Until the day it finally had the courage to run from it all.

Then there was the Ox,

Who carried the rat on its back out of kindness,

And was thought of as the stupidest of them all.

Next was the Tiger,

Who was made fun of by its classmates,

And forced to silence.

Then came the Rabbit,

Who was rejected by its closest family member,

But still manages to smile every ongoing day.

After that was the Dragon,

Who only wanted love,

But was delivered a broken heart,

Because of its power to erase the memories of the one most important to it,

The memories most important to it.

Then was the Snake,

Who only wanted to repay its unrepayable debt

To the one person who it could truly call family.

Next was the Horse,

Who protected its one love by ignoring him,

Leaving him in confusion.

Then came the Sheep,

Who tried to be a prince,

But only ended up being irritating.

Then there was the Monkey,

Who took everyone's sins as its own,

Even things that weren't anyone's fault.

After that was the Rooster,

Who fell in a secret love

Of which God's rules suggested otherwise.

Next was the Dog,

Who had its own way of doing things,

But inside could never regret.

Then came the Boar,

Who was frightened away by its best friend,

And then spent its entire life trying to make it up to him,

Only to be completely rejected.

Those are the twelve members of the zodiac and God,

Those are the thirteen creatures who attended the banquet.

But there was still another creature,

One that was innocent,

One that lay home asleep during the banquet,

Dreaming of the next day's banquet that would never happen.

It was lied to,

Cheated and brought down my the Rat.

The Cat, perhaps the most cursed of them all,

Being rejected from the zodiac,

And locked up until the day it died
