This song would not get out of my head and I knew I had to write a story with it. I don't own "Somebody" these people to Dave Berg/Sam Tate/Annie Tate.
At a diner down on Broadway they make small talk
When she brings his eggs and fills his coffee cup
Nick and Sara sat that their usual place at the dinner.
He jokes about his love life
And tells her he's 'bout ready to give up
"I've had it. I just can't seem to find the right person for me." Nick said a little upset.
That's when she says," I've been there before
But keep on lookin' 'cause maybe who you're lookin' for is..."
"I know what you mean but you never know when that person will walk into your life or if they already have" said Sara.
Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the morning train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at
But never really see
Somewhere out there is somebody
Across town in a crowded elevator
He can't forget the things that waitress said
Nick walked up to the mail boxes at this apartment complex and thought about what Sara had said at the dinner that morning.
He usually reads the paper
But today he reads a stranger's face instead
A pretty girl from a couple doors down walked up and got her mail. Nick thought "What the heck?" And started to talk to her.
It's that blue-eyed girl from two floors up
Maybe she's the one maybe he could fall in love with
"I wonder?" Nick thought after the short conversation with April, he found out her name during the nice conversation.
Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the morning train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right by everyday
Somebody that you look at
But never really see
Somewhere out there is somebody
It had been six months since their conversation and he can't help but laugh at how he got were he is now.
Now they laugh about the moment that it happened
A moment they'd both missed until that day
She had just been standing there. They were having a conversation like they had done hundred times before when it had happened.
When he saw his future in her eyes
Instead of just another friendly face
He had stopped in the middle of it and just stared at her. Not believing he hadn't seen it before.
And he wonders why he searched so long
When she was always there at that diner waiting on
"You want to go to dinner with me?" Nick had asked a little nervous.
She had just stood there for a second processing what he had just said.
"I would love to, Nicky." Sara said with a smile on her face.
Somebody in the next car
Somebody on the morning train
Somebody in the coffee shop
That you walk right on by everyday
Somebody that you look at
But never really see
Somewhere out there is somebody
She was right you never know when you will find that somebody.
"Sara, Will you marry me?"
