Albus Severus hadn't been at Hogwarts long, but he felt as if every day was a blessing. His conceited asshole of a father never failed to remind him that he was "Harry Potter" the great hero; the boy wizard who saved all of mankind. Albus felt like anything could trigger this speech. For example, five weeks before he left for Hogwarts, Albus had left one of his open books on the floor in the living room. Father Harry had happened to trip over it in one of his drunken furors and reeled into another speech.

"Do you think HARRY FUCKING POTTER ever left books lying around on the floor, my boy? You will amount to absolutely NOTHING in this life. Frankly, I'm astounded that you even garnered yourself a letter from filthy Hogwarts. That place would be NOTHING without me!"

Albus was already in the habit of nodding in the appropriate pauses in the conversation. Arguing with his father never ended well. In fact it usually ended in a welt somewhere on his body, seeing as Harry was usually to drunk by that point to effectively utilize spells.

Oh yes, they all put on quite the show for the wizarding world. No one wanted to hear about washed up Potter. They wanted their super man. The truth was that Ginny really did love Harry until about three years into their marriage. The absence of Voldemort really started to affect Harry then. See, so much of his life had been devoted to destroying that man, nay thing, that when it was finally over he felt empty. Nothing had ever made his blood boil like Voldemort and it was only after a fight with him that he felt truly alive. He didn't even have sex with Ginny anymore. Frankly, it bored him. Once you've fought with the Dark Lord, everything else just pales in comparison.
