Ya ya, so it's a little late, but here it is anyway.
A Rurouni Kenshin (which, by the way, I don't own) Halloween (oh god).

The sun was high up in the heavens, and as it looked down, it saw the lonely form of Kenshin Himura happily doing the laundry. Looking back up at the sun, he saw that there were no clouds in the sky, and it was a deep rich blue. 'The sky is so pure today,' Kenshin thought dreamily, 'just like miss Kaoru,' eyes snapping into focus, he warily looked around for anybody who might have understood what he was mumbling.
Upon looking up, he vaguely heard her sweet-voice calling him, so he knew that there was something that she wanted him to do. 'Ah well, maybe someday.' he thought as he called out to her, asking what she wanted.
"Oh there you are Kenshin!" She quickly ran out to the back. "A traveling salesman stopped by with a message from Okina in Kyoto." she said handing him a message. It wasn't very heavy, so Kenshin ruled out the possibility that something horrendous had happened, and reasoned that it was an announcement of some sort, 'probably political' he thought slightly sourly.
Sighing, he opened it and started to read. It was defiantly an announcement of some kind, he decided before even reading the opening line. In his surprise at what the message entailed, he accidentally dropped the message and was too slow to get it before Kaoru did.
Dear everyone,
You are invited to my first annual all saints-eve ball.
The evening's activities will start at sundown, and continue
till past midnight. It is a custom in America to come dressed
up as something other than your self, in other words, in a
costume. I hope that you will be able to come, as there are
several people coming who would like to meet you.
Sincerely -
Okina
"Oh Kenshin! They're having a party! Isn't that exiting! Lets go!"
Seeing how exited Kaoru got over this, Kenshin reluctantly agreed to go.
"Oh, miss Kaoru, look! There's a note from Misao written on the back!"
"Really? Let me see. Oh good. She noticed that Okina had left out the date of the party, and decided to let us know. Oh! Heehee!"
Hearing the lightness in the laughter Kenshin knew that Misao had said something he wasn't about to hear. Possibly though she had said something else, but most likely a special note to Kaoru.
"What is it?"
"Hmm, uh," Kaoru blushed. Then, as her eyes continued to read the note, they sparkled again. "Oh, she asked if we had any news of Aoshi, it seems he's run off again!"
"Uh oh!" said Yahiko, who had just pooped by to see what all the trouble is about. "He's in for it when he gets back! Misao's gonna kill 'im!" Grinning, he left after getting yelled at by Kaoru for jumping into others conversations, to go pack.
"Kenshin?" Asked Kaoru a bit nervously, "Do you mind going back? I mean," She stopped, unable to find the right words.
"Its ok." Came the reply after a short stretch of soul searching. "But this time, lets all go together."
Kaoru smiled at this, and turned away so that she too could go pack, taking the letter with Misao's extra note with her. Kenshin again glanced up at the sun and sky, but as it hadn't changed from its prior purity and beauty, he took it as a good sign, and went to pack.

Authors note: yeah, I'm going to skip the whole journey, cause I'm trying to finish this so that people are still in the right mood. even if this is about a week late.but feel free to say what happened in a review.( Well, I could have skipped directly to the party, but a story has to have a starting place, and so, the start. Till the next installment -r
