"…Kathleen…"
Whispers in the dark,
A girl in a gilded, silver cage,
A contented prisoner,
One who has accepted fate
With open arms,
One who has smiled
At the sight of death,
A child of destiny,
Torn form the protection of Fate
And thrown,
Unheaded,
Into that black,
Swirling sea,
Known as Despair.
"…Kathleen…"
Voices on the Wind,
A Lover's Cry,
Holds her,
Keeps her still,
For she can never be free,
Of the One she loves,
Her heart is his to hold,
If he would only remember.
"Kathleen."
'Who is calling me?'
'Back to the world of Light.'

Pale lavender eyes slowly opened, the fetal positioned body began to unwind, arms and legs detangling to stretch, muscles unused to such strain screaming in agony for the first time. Pale skin was thrown into distortion as the clear green liquid began to drain from the tank, taking with it the taste of salt, giving way to that crisp, clean sense of air. Fresh.
Dark tresses of midnight black, streaked heavily with white and blue, clung to her damp skin as she tried to find her feet, and failed. She fell, collapsing to her knees, the liquids around her cushioning her desent, if only somewhat. Already tired, weak muscles refused to respond, whining in contempt as she again struggled to rise.
Finely boned, long fingered hands reached out to steady her, pushing against the glass, and she was suddenly aware of the figure beyond the barrier, watching her calmly.
'…prisoner…' whispered the Voice. The voice that had called her.
She did not like this person. Their figure was contemptable, their visage familiar.
"…I…know…you…" she hadn't consciously said the words, but they were there, reverberating through the cloud of fog suddenly descending down upon her.
She couldn't move, her body was sluggish, refusing to respond to her commands, limp.
A panel slid back in the glass tank, and the outside figure reached in, tenderly taking the girl in his arms, wrapping her in a blanket of warmth. He smiled down at her, lavender eyes kind as he observed her slack, tired face.
'…how…do I know…you…' she wanted to ask him, desperately. She was desperate, she wanted answers. Who was she, why was she here, what had happened.
A name swam to the surface of her slowly fading mind.
'Kath…Kathleen…Kathleen Wh...Kathleen White.'
'Who is this person?' she thought absently, not paying attention to the darkness creeping up on her vision, too preoccupied with this new name.
'…you…' whispered the Voice, soothing and calm, but fading.
Her eyes began to droop, and the man above her smiled. He reached gently for the nun's habit, beginning to dress her, his movements practiced. Had he helped her like this before?
"Who are you?" again, she had not consciously spoken, but the man paused in his actions, blinked, then chuckled.
"You should sleep now." He said, voice soothing against her confused mind. The darkness began to creep up upon her faster now, long, sleepy tendrils of shadow gripping her mind in a vice like grip.
'…sleep…what is…no…where is Tr…'
"Sleep."
And the darkness claimed her.
