Felix frowned as he watched his dad hang up the phone. The boy ran over and wrapped his arms around his dads leg, looking up at him with huge green eyes.
"Daddy, are you okay?" He asked. A pale hand ran through red hair, and a tired smile was offered to the child.
"Yeah, buddy. I'm okay. You remember the nice lady who daddy was seeing?" Felix nodded.
"You mean the one with the pretty hair who smelled funny?" His dad nodded.
"Well, she said that she wasn't going to see me anymore." His dad snorted. "I'm pretty sure she was only dating me to see you." Felix tilted his head, a frown on his face.
"Is that bad?" He asked again. His dad pulled back and squatted down so he was eye level with the small boy. He reached out and put his hands on his shoulders, making sure that Felix was looking at him and not the carpet.
"Felix, sweetie, that is the least worst thing I could think of. You're probably the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I mean that. You're my favourite kid." He teased. He pressed a kiss to the child's forehead, then popped up and glanced at the clock, jumping in alarm when the numbers registered.
"Holy crap is that the time?" He squawked. He turned to Felix and scooped him up, grabbing the house key from the bowl on the kitchen counter and his son's backpack from by the door before he dashed out the door, listening to his son giggling.
Felix giggled as his dad stopped once they reached the stoplight and put him down. He grabbed his backpack and placed it on his tiny shoulders, slipping his hand into his father's larger one.
"You ready, Felix?" He asked, beginning to bounce on his toes. Felix nodded excitedly, readying himself for the sprint that was to follow. The light turned green and the two took off, Felix dashing hard and his dad jogging quickly so that he didn't lose him. They sprinted for a while until Felix started slowing down, which is when his dad finally bent over and scooped him up, the tiny ravenette clinging to his front as he wrapped an arm around him and took off, running quickly so that he could get to work on time.
"Wally! And I see you brought Felix again! Hello Felix!" A woman cooed as they stepped into the doorway. Felix moved behind his dad's leg, waving shyly at her.
"Hello, Miss Megan." He said, causing all the observers to chuckle slightly. Megan laughed as she dug around behind the counter, handing the boy a lollipop. Felix took it and smiled, making the woman smile wider.
"He's so adorable, Wally! I wish he was my kid." Wally chuckled.
"Sorry, megalicious, but Felix is my kid and my best bro. There's no way that I'm giving that up." Megan laughed, playfully snapping her fingers.
"Darn, and here I thought that Conner and I were gonna get him this time." At the mention of the brooding ebony Wally grinned.
"How is your hubby, by the way? Is he still working at Wayne enterprises?" Megan nodded, tucking her red hair behind her ear.
"Yeah. He says he's going to drop by later today. Oh! And he said he was going to bring a friend." Wally grinned at that.
"Alright, that is enough chattering from you two. Wally, please get to work. Megan, please go back to your work." Kaulder said, entering the room from his office. He looked down at the small boy, seeing him enjoy the treat and bent down, offering him a toy figure. Felix gasped in delight as he took the toy, hugging the tall man.
"Thank you, 'unca Kaulder!" He said, before running past the man and putting his bag into the special cubby made for him. Wally walked into the back room, reaching into his locker and pulling out two aprons. He put his on, then walked out to the front to put the other on Felix. Felix stuck his tongue out in concentration as he tied the strings, beaming when he managed to do it by himself.
"Alright, lets open the cafe for today." Kaulder said, flipping the open sign on their door.
"Oh, look at that little boy! We have to go in!" The door tinkled as it opened, and Felix looked up from where he was colouring to greet the two girls who entered.
"Hello! I'm Felix. Welcome to the cafe!" The girls cooed as he greeted them, talking with him for a bit before going up to the counter to order. Kaulder grinned as the girls left, promising to tell their friends all about the cute cafe with the adorable child. He turned to see Wally with an ear splitting grin, watching his son.
"Careful, Wally!" Kaulder warned, seeing the redhead snap back to attention before he spilt the mug he was pouring.
"My bad, boss!" He said cheerfully, before handing the mug to the waiting woman.
The door tinkled again and Wally only looked up when he heard Felix shout in delight before throwing himself at the tall ebony haired boy.
"Unca Con!" He said. Conner chuckled as lifted the small boy up.
"Hello, Felix. How are you?" Felix began chattering on about his day, unaware to the way his father was staring at the man next to Conner. He was short, and sporting a black jacket over a blue shirt, black skinny jeans and sunglasses. The smaller male seemed to cackle as he caught sight of Wally watching him and his son. He was brought back to earth however as Felix reached out and tugged on his shirt.
"Whats your name, mister?" The man smiled.
"My name's Dick. And you remind me a lot of my daughter Margarett."
