This is my first story so please keep that in mind as you read, I do not own Star Wars or Arvel Crynyd, or any of the vessels or planets portrayed here. Please read and review!

The Battle of Endor was a furious spectacle of flashing energy and exploding warheads, and the tide was slowly turning. Minutes earlier the energy field protecting the massive Death Star had come down, and the surviving Rebel starfighters had streaked into the construction. Once inside, Lando Calrissian had ordered the majority of the craft to break off in an attempt to draw off the pursuing TIE fighters, and now the four leftover A-Wings of Green Wing were forming up for their assault on the Super Star Destroyer Executor. Wing Leader Arvel Crynyd checked his CMD and confirmed the lack of TIEs around the Executor, the screen had been drawn off by concentrated fire from the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser Independence and its support vessels. "Green Group, this is Green Leader, split by wing pairs, Celchu you're with me. Each pair take one of the Shield Towers on the bridge, then form up diamond at coordinates 12.61.42 and signal the Independence."

The other three pilots signaled affirmative, and the group split into two pairs on a course straight for the bridge. Crynyd and Tycho Celchu unloaded their remaining concussion missiles into the generator at point-blank range, then veered off and sped clear as the shield sphere was incinerated. As the two A-Wings steered around to head for the rendezvous coordinates, Crynyd spotted an X-Wing coming up behind them. He opened a channel to the craft, "Red Six, come to give us a hand? We could sure use it!" The pilot of the X-Wing did not respond, and Arvel tried to peer through the darkened transparisteel of the cockpit to see if the pilot was signaling a com malfunction. Inside, he could dimly make out the pilot slumped over the controls, clearly dead. With dawning horror, he wheeled his craft to escape. Someone had remote hijacked the ship and killed the pilot, which meant Red Six was now a hostile craft. Then red bolts of energy lanced out from the X-Wing's S-Foils, striking his port engine and sending him spiraling out of control.

Everything slowed down as his engine was incinerated. The inertial compensators had been damaged by the explosion, which made him feel the full effects of the spin. Fighting unconsciousness, he reached for the stick and slowly turned his vessel back towards the bridge of the crippled Executor. The craft was still spinning, and the massive turbolasers on the Executor couldn't line up an accurate shot on him as a result. The remote-controlled craft of Red Six, however, following along slowly and straight, was an easy target, and the X-Wing was obliterated as it flew. Darkness clawed at his vision, and Arvel fought gravity to get his hand to the ejection lever. He wrapped his fingers around it and tried to pull, but couldn't tell if he moved it enough to trigger the mechanism. Exhausted, Arvel Crynyd surrendered and fell into blissful darkness as his vessel sliced through the viewport of the Executor and his world turned to fire.
