Lucy's Dream

Darkness closes around me,

And figures surround on all sides.

They look at me and curse my name,

And treat me without pity.

Suddenly I'm alone again

In my own dark world,

But above me there sits shining,

A large bright light like the sun.

I look up towards it and reach

Hoping to grab it and be accepted,

But instead it seems to pull away,

And I realize that it is something I cannot.

As I realize the truth about my existance

Tears begin to flow down my pained face.

And trying to not believe my fate,

I try to reach for it again.

I continue reaching for acceptance,

And continue to fail, then suddenly

More faces appear and torment me,

Then as they curse me, something changes.

I look back up at the light

And reach once more for it.

As I reach it seems my arms start to grow,

and extend towards my goal.

These arms are not my arms,

Yet they belong to me ever

Invisible to others, only seen by me,

They manage to grab my goal.

But as I reach it and see

It shows me what I am,

And what I will be,

A sight that I don't want to believe.

As I contemplate what I shall be

Many more faces come,

And try to hurt me but,

In my new-found future

I finally find peace.

Now I am done living in the dark,

And all of those who hurt me

Now exist no more for

Their future exist no more.

I am called a monster,

A creature without remorse,

But in reality I am not the monster

I am an avenger, No I'm am Lucy.
