A young woman walked through the cemetery alone, her fiancé not by her side. She reached the crowd where a preacher talked of a girl whose future was bright and how she was loved by many. As he said this, she clenched her pale hands so hard she drew blood.

No one knew her, not like she did. They didn't know the woman being buried, how she put on a false mask of happiness, how she was tormented daily by her many demons, how the only one who knew this was the black haired pixie who had her mascara running down her face. She was the girl who no one chose, who everyone abandoned and left. The once beautiful woman; with a soft smirk on her face and always hid her eyes to everyone else. The child she once was that couldn't go to sleep at night out of fear she wouldn't wake up, and the quite brunette who knew nothing of love; only hate and rejection.

What hurt this sprite most of all however, was this was the woman she could have had. The woman she could have given a happy ending too, her love.

After everyone had filed away she walked up to the gravestone, dropping to her knees. "I am so, so sorry. I wish I could take it back. I wish I chose you over him. I should have. My heart told me too but I was a coward. I'll never be able to take it back, not for as long as I walk the earth with a hollow heart that only you ever did fill. I am so sorry my beautiful, beautiful Bella."

She leaned forward and kissed the gravestone. Alice knew for as long as she would live, she could never move on. She may be married, she may have kids but the only one who ever will and did claim her heart was now lying six feet under. She took her favorite ring off of her right hand, the ring she had given to her, now forever, lost love as a promise she would give her a happy ending; a promise she broke. She took the ring and laid it on her beloved's grave. This was woman who died, not of a car crash, but of a broken heart.
