Nothing like Sherlock
Poem in John's voice, addressed to Sarah. Sherlock/John and past or end-Sarah/John. Getting over Sarah maybe. Sounds like Sarah is the antithesis or opposite of Sherlock. Juxtaposition! Squinting required. Review please? :D
[John's point-of-view]
You're nothing like him.
Your quiet submissiveness is nothing like his overbearing ego.
Your socially-acceptable tact is nothing like his harsh bluntness.
Your elegant pencil skirts are nothing like his wicked woollen scarves.
Your light-coloured ponytail is nothing like his messy dark curls.
Your fair complexion is nothing like his shocking paleness.
Your warm eyes are nothing like his clear cold ones.
Your emotional effusiveness is nothing like his stoic demeanour.
Your bumbling declarations are nothing like his flawless logic.
Your adorable giggling is nothing like his smug chortling.
Your mute acceptance is nothing like his unreasonable demands.
Your understated calmness is nothing like his dramatic flair.
Your quotidian mundanity is nothing like his wild brilliance.
Your anchor-like stability is nothing like his inherent dizziness.
Your soft comforting love is nothing like his urgent desperate one.
Your John is nothing like his John.
You're nothing like Sherlock.
There's nothing like Sherlock.
So you see, Sarah, I only ever liked the idea of being your John, but, I've realised, all I really want and probably need is to be Sherlock's John.
And I'm halfway there already, aren't I?
Author's Note: The concept and structure of this was derived without much effort. Thinking up more comparisons was the semi-difficult part. I wrote some, thought about it, acquired several ideas to incorporate, went back to polish it and voila. (:
