Cho suppressed his surprise for a later moment, his mind raced at what had just taken place. Jason was running, and Jane was floating. Without further thought, he dove into the water. His mind swerved, why was the water suddenly red? He grabbed the consultant's bicep and dragged him to the side of the pool.

"Cho! What happened?" Lisbon appeared poolside.

She helped him lift Jane up and out of the water, concern written all over her face. She swiftly produced a towel and pressed it on Jane's temple. They could hear Grace in the background spitting out directions to their location, urging the ambulance to hustle.

"Uhhhhh." They all focused on Jane intently as he let a groan escape. "Hey guys," he smiled, one eye open. He looked beside himself at the towel covered in blood, "That's mine?"

"The thud," Cho muttered looking up in recollection. He glanced at the diving board. "He hit his head on the diving board."

"How did that happen? Just felt like a swim Jane?" Lisbon inquired, eyebrows raised, trying to figure out if she should be concerned or annoyed.

"Jason walked," Cho announced.

"That was one big fella, Cho, did you see him?" Jane asked.

"He was pretty built, Boss," Cho confirmed looking at Lisbon.

"He had a snake on his arm." Jane shuddered, closing his eyes again. "One time," Jane started, "When I was still at the carnival," Cho and Lisbon exchanged a glance. "There was this guy, and he had a snake on his arm too."

"Also a tattoo?" Grace asked, now beside them, always intrigued by Jane's world.

"No," Jane answered flatly and went silent.

"Jane?" Lisbon nudged him softly. "Jane let's all stay awake a while longer, huh? Then you can go back and nap on your couch." She bit her lip when he said nothing and remained still; hurt team members made her uneasy. And Jane wasn't even an agent, he shouldn't be getting hurt.

"It choked me," Jane offered. Not the water, they gathered.

"The guy let it do that?" Grace wondered, imagining what life at a carnival would be like, day in and day out.

"He made it do that," Jane told them. His head was beginning to dribble blood again.

"You never finished how this happened, Cho," Lisbon said while pressing the towel to Jane's head once more.

"Oh." Cho shifted his thoughts away from a snake trying to kill a young Jane and explained the proceeding events. "Jane was trying to get Jason to spill that he'd murdered Smith. Jane mentioned the girl, and just like that, Jason picked Jane up, and chucked him into the pool, or the diving board."

She shook her head and flashed a faint smile. "Not everyone can control themselves when Jane's around," Lisbon said as they heard the ambulance pull up.

The EMT's did their job and soon had him in a stretcher just about ready to be lifted into the ambulance.

"Lisbon," Jane grabbed her wrist. "Make sure there's no snakes where I'm going?"

Her eyebrows scrunched, he was in the ambulance before she could reply. No snakes? He'd seemed a bit too aware when he'd said that...
