"I hate apples" Sue announced suddenly in the middle of dinner. About 10 people turned and stared at her, rolled their eyes, and returned to their conversations.

"Really? How nice" Ron answered. "Could you elaborate on this sudden declaration?"

Sue shrugged. "Not really"

"You know Ron, when you start to talk like that you sound like Hermione" Harry commented.

"Thank you Harry" Hermione said dryly. "Actually apples and cheese taste good together"

"That's gross" Ron pretended to gag.

"So are you" Hermione snapped.

"What's gross?" Lavender asked turning around. "Are we talking about Ron again?"

"Yeah, Ron and apples"

"What?" Dean exclaimed.

Seamus shrugged. "Go figure"

"I wonder if I'm allergic to apples" Sue mused.

"I wonder if we really care" Ron muttered.

"I wonder if you would like to shut up" Hermione said sweetly.

"Yo what was that old saying about an apple every week? It keeps something away" Dean said. "My ma told me about it"

Hermione scoffed. "Its an apple a day, not a week"

"Really? Ugh who could stand an apple per day anyway" Lavender said.

"Hey, I am allergic to apples!" Sue exclaimed.

"Well tickle me pink" Ron said. "The girl is allergic to apples."

"How did you find that out?" Harry asked.

Seamus grabbed an apple off the plate and began studying it. "I wonder what this keeps away"

Lavender frowned. "Well it has to be something bad, you only keep away bad things, right?"

"Obviously" Hermione said.

"Sue, you're breaking out in spots" Harry said concerned.

"Should I have eaten that apple?" Sue asked Hermione.

"You ate an apple? You moron you're allergic to them!" Lavender screeched.

"I GOT IT!" Dean yelled.

Seamus jumped. "Got what?"

"An apple a day keeps Snape away!" Dean roared

Lavender squealed and bit into an apple. "Yay! A cure!"

Ron started to look interesting. "Hey I wonder if that really works"

Then he began to look worried. "Sue are you feeling ok? You really don't look good"

Harry rolled his eyes. "Well of course she doesn't feel good if she is allergic to apples"

"You guys you got the saying all wrong!" Hermione shouted.

"Well then what is it?" Seamus asked exasperated.

Deans face fell. "It won't keep Snape away?"

"You mean I ate this apple for nothing?" Lavender looked horrified at the very thought.

"So what do apples keep away?" Ron asked. "Were dying to know Hermione"

"Yeah, what's the answer?" Harry asked.

Hermione froze. "Oh my lord"

"WHAT?" Seamus exploded. "Tell us the bloody answer!"

"I forgot!" she whispered.

Lavender's jaw dropped, Dean looked furious, Harry and Ron rolled their eyes, and Sue began clutching her throat.

"Did you say something?" Ron looked at Sue.

"I…know the…answer" she croaked.

Everybody turned around and stared at her.

"Well? Tell us!" Lavender demanded.

"An apple a day—" Sue gasped "keeps the…doctor…'way" and with that she collapsed on the floor.

Lavender looked crestfallen. Dean sighed and dropped his apple on the table. "What a bummer"

Hermione paused. "Uh Sue?"

Ron grinned. "I guess the saying doesn't hold for Sue"
