Hey, Perky-Thief here, bringing you another Greek Mythology piece. I've seen the famous Botticelli painting, The Birth of Venus, many times in my life and its beauty has always astounded me. So one day, while at a Museum, I came up with this poem in response to the painting.

So, this is my poem which I devote to the goddess, Venus. I know it's short, but give it a chance.

Botticelli - The Birth of Venus

- An erethral goddess stands upon a ridged scallop shell.

- The ancient Aphrodite, whom we know so well.

- Shaded beneath a flowering orange grove,

- She emits an essence of grace, beauty, and love.

- Golden strands of silky thread within her hands slowly curl,

- While roses with golden hearts around her begin to twirl.

- Blown by the West Wind and Flora held upon a mighty wing.

- As nymphs who dance to the right softly begin to sing.

- Conceived when Heaven's castration met the milky sea foam,

- Venus steps off her shell in Cyprus, entering her new island home.
