A one - shot song fic written to Ronan Keating's 'When you say nothing at
all'
(Harry/Hermione - but its very mild, no kissing or cuddling or anything!!)
Enjoy!!
There they were again, sitting in the common room, as they did every night, doing their homework.
Harry sat in the middle of their favourite sofa with his homework on his lap, whilst Ron sat next to him with his work spread out on the table in front of him. Hermione sat in the armchair next to the fire in which she always sat, with Crookshanks curled up on her lap. The two boys were doing an essay for Transfiguration on the topic 'Why is it not clever to transfigure your quill into a mountain troll?" Hermione, who had finished her essay, was reading a book.
"Do you get the point of this essay?" said Ron, leaning back on the sofa next to Harry. "Not really, but its easy homework, why are you complaining?!" Harry replied, laughing. "Good point!" Ron admitted, getting back to his essay. "Its good revision for you." Hermione stated, getting up from her chair. "Where are you going?" asked Harry, sounding slightly concerned and a little disappointed. "Here" Hermione said simply as she sat down in the empty seat next to Harry, which brought a wide smile to his face.
It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart.
Harry caught Hermione's eye and smiled.
Without saying a word, you can light up the dark.
Hermione smiled back.
Try as I may, I can never explain what I hear when you don't say a thing.
They sat there, still, silent.
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me,
There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me,
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me whenever I fall.
Harry put his hand on the sofa beside him and it brushed against Hermione's. She opened her mouth to speak.
You say it best.
And closed it again.
When you say nothing at all.
There were still a lot of people in the common room, who were all chatting away without a care in the world.
All day long I can hear people talking out loud.
Hermione was just sitting close to Harry, not making a sound. The noise of the crowd seemed to drift away from Harry's ears.
But when you hold me near, you can drown out the crowd.
Ron said something but Harry didn't take it in, he was distracted from everything.
Try as they may they can never define what's been said between your heart and mine.
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me,
Hermione glanced at Harry's work and smiled.
There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me.
She stared into his emerald green eyes.
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me whenever I fall.
She took his hand and held it in hers.
You say it best.
They sat there, silent, still.
When you say nothing at all.
Ron leaned back on the sofa. "Harry, what are you writing?"
Harry looked down at his page and suddenly realised why Hermione was smiling.
For anyone who didn't get it, Harry had started writing down the song words instead of his essay, cute, huh?!
Please review and let me know if I should keep writing song fics, or just leave them alone and concentrate on my normal fics.
