Ayumu's POV
A blink followed by a pinch. He still couldn't believe it. This wasn't possible, yet here she was standing in front of him, hair flowing around in a vision unknown. The braids never existed, the smile, the faith all stolen away by the cruel deceit of time. He knew very well, time had never been kind, yet it couldn't even leave him one memory untainted by the stains of doubt. At last the slow suffocating stillness made its entrance bringing with it the sweet touch of numbness. This was more like it, he didn't know how much more he could stand. "Hey." Just one word, who knew how it could affect him so, the trembling barely visible silently taunted his weakness. Weakness. He knew he was weak, only a glimpse of a shadow, so how had he become hope? When did he become the one preaching in the ability to believe? Ayumu laughed at the irony of it all. A forced imitation of strength, a watered down echo, that's what he was. Named the pillar of hope. The hope that was made up of lies, the Blade Children's very foundation was made up of weakness. What broke him in the end? He knew very well. "You know Hiyono, my only weakness was loving you."
Hiyono's POV
God, she hated this silence. In this empty pause she heard the sound of betrayal throwing itself in her face. She needed to break it, before the reminders took away her will. "Hey." There, she had done it. She never looked back once the missions were over. A clean break, that was her rule. So why was she standing here? She knew of course, too well. The all consuming guilt urged her, crooned so sweetly what could have been, softly painting the life she so badly wanted to be born into. Buried beneath all the useless longing was the need to face her weakness. At first she had thought to seek solace through Kiyotaka. She thought if she expressed the burning hatred within, she would feel better. However things were never that easy were they? The only thing that had made sense to her was Ayumu, and now she had lost even that to a lie. That's when it hit her, the source of all her troubles. How silly it was that she was to realize it now. It was her love for Ayumu that could never be excused. How painfully silly. So of course it was at that moment he chose to strike. Chose to say. "You know Hiyono, my only weakness was loving you." Afterall, what was a better punishment than this?
Ok so I debated a very long time as to whether or not I should post this. It's more like a rant than a story, but in the end I figured what the heck, at least it's a tribute to Ayumu and Hiyono. There can never be more than enough Spiralness to go around :3 I'm sorry if you don't like it, just please don't flame. Reviews make me extra happy, and just might keep me writing ;]
