The party was getting to be too much. I left for their courtyard. Outside, it was snowing. Little flecks of innocence blanketing the barren trees.

The door slid open behind me. I turned around to face him and smiled slightly. Neji walked out, still dressed in his silk yutaka.

"Tenten."

"Shouldn't you be inside, entertaining your guests? They came to see you, genius prodigy of the Hyuga, after all." I teased.

"Tenten, why are you not inside?"
"It was getting to be too much," I said simply. I offered no other details, nor explanations, but he seemed satisfied.

He walked over and sat down, tucking his hand inside his shimmering indigo robe. Just like Hiashi-san. I tilted my head back to gaze at the cotton sky in order not to look at him. His robe was open slightly.

" Tenten. Go back inside. You'll get sick out here."

"What about you? You're not wearing much." I blushed at this. It hadn't come out as expected.

I got up, and turned to head on inside, but I felt his hand on my shoulder, holding me down.

"Stay. Just a little longer."

He looked over at my crimson face and smirked slightly, in that dignified Hyuga way. God, he was so hot. Arrogant bastard.

I chose my words carefully. "Neji-sama. You should go in now. Hiashi-sama will probably be announcing you soon."

He snorted. "The inauguration can wait."
"No. It is your duty as a Hyuga."

"Tenten. Don't. Don't add that ridiculous 'sama' after my name. I'm only 16, Tenten."
"But…you are the future leader of the Hyuga clan and a leading ANBU jounin. It's your proper title."

"Tenten…" His hand slid down to my arm. A foreign feeling swept over me. Is this what they meant by 'de-sha-vu'? How many times had I fallen asleep to this image, this feeling?

Next thing I knew, his arms were around me. Warmth. The yakuta he wore felt paper thin between us. I could feel his well defined muscles and the faint pumping of his heart against my back.

I let everything envelope me, smother me, take over. He felt so good. His skin was sort of…creamy… Warm breath tickled my neck.

But nothing good lasts. He should have gone in.

He tensed, his breathing becoming controlled, measured. A second later, the door slid open again.

"Neji-sama. Hiashi-sama would…" He stopped and gawked.

Neji glared over and let go. "Deliver your message."

The man swallowed several times, his adams apple swimming up and down like some bobble head. "H-hai, Neji-sama. Hiashi-sama sent me to fetch you. Your inauguration…"

He growled, and got up slowly. Faint veins around his eyes were beginning to pulse. After a swift backward glance he left, closing the screen door behind him.

Oh god. What now? Gai gave us today off (although I suspect that was because him and Lee got a little carried away with the drinking last night and are probably having hang-overs right now), but tomorrow…tomorrow I might have to see him.

Unless he's given an ANBU mission. Please. Please Tsunade-sama. Give him a mission. Any mission. Just send him away for a couple of days. To tell the truth, I'm atheist, but I think I'll say a little prayer tonight. Just in case there actually is a God out there somewhere, listening.

AN: I don't know what to do with this...
