Yu-Gi-Oh!: Sakura's Lullaby

It was a cold, starry evening in Domino City. Gentle winds blew drifts of snow onto the darkened streets. Yugi was out getting dinner for him and Tea, his wife, while she was back at the Game Shop, watching their newborn daughter, Sakura. After Battle City, Yami returned to Ancient Egypt, to rule with Anzu, his wife. Now, the Millennium Puzzle was at the museum, since there was no use keeping it anymore.

Meanwhile, Tea was setting the table for dinner. After being married to her beloved Yugi, nothing surprised her anymore, except if something happened to the baby. Now that Yugi was taller than she was, he could easily run the Game store on his own, as well as protect Tea. A loud wail interrupted Tea's thoughts.

Walking into the nursery, Tea picked the screaming infant, who resembled her mother. Sakura cooed as Tea cuddled her. She walked over to the rocking chair, and stroked Sakura's dark brown locks, and sang a lullaby:

Lay down

Your sweet and weary head

The night is falling

You have come to journey's end

Sleep now

And dream of the ones who came before

They are calling

From across the distant shore

Why do you weep?

What are these tears upon your face?

Soon you will see

All of your fears will pass away

Safe in my arms

You're only sleeping

What can you see

On the horizon?

Why do the white gulls call?

Across the sea

A pale moon rises

The ships have come to carry you home

And all will turn

To silver glass

A light on the water

All Souls pass

Hope fades

Into the world of night

Through shadows falling

Out of memory and time

Don't say

We have come now to the end

White shores are calling

You and I will meet again

And you'll be here in my arms

Just sleeping

Misaki's eyes closed, as she drifted off to sleep, comforted by her mother's voice.

And all will turn

To silver glass

A light on the water

Grey ships pass

Into the West

Tea smiled, and placed Sakura in her cradle, before covering her with a soft yellow blanket. She kissed Sakura's forehead, and shut the door. "Nice song," Yugi commented, as he kissed her. Tea smiled, "I'm glad you think so. I love you, Yugi." "I love you, too," Yugi said, and he kissed her sweetly, as the snow swirled outside and the stars shone overhead.
