A memory that has yet to be expressed in my story Honorable Brothers and Lover. Because I changed the begin of the story I needed to fit a very important line in somehow. Also anyone who is reading my other story I will try to update very soon. So I hope you enjoy

Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha

"Sesshoumaru, come here," Kamane called to the small inu youkai, his deep voice echoing through the halls of the Western Palace. Bright golden eyes tuned towards his Chichi-ue, quickly scampering towards the elder Diayoukai, the sounds of his feet hitting the stone floors. The silver haired inu stood no taller than the Daiyoukai's shin, forcing the tiny youkai to tilt his head back to look into his
Chichi-ue's smoldering eyes. The elder smiled down at his pup before kneeling down to the small Daiyoukai's eye level so he was able to look into the identical golden eyes. "What is the most important thing to a Daiyoukai," Kaname questioned. The pup blinked before cocking his head to the side much like the inu he was. A small fang protruded from the side of his mouth as he bit lip, trying to think of an acceptable answer to give his Chichi-ue. "Being the strongest so you can defeat any enemy you are faced with," Sesshoumaru said uncertainly. Kamane smiled at him endearingly, but shook his head. "That is part of it, but where do you draw your strength from, young one," the Daiyoukai questioned. Sesshoumaru's brows furrowed as his face took on a look of deep concentration.

Crossing his arms, the small inu rested his chin against his chest. He was becoming increasingly aggravated as time passed. Servants that passed by couldn't help smiling softly at the scene of their young Ouji trying so hard to please their Daiyoukai. "Kamane-sama, do you require anything," one servant inquired quietly. The great youkai nodded, his silver top knot following his movements. "Go and fetch Lirin-sama, quickly," Kamane ordered. The servant bowed, issuing a quick, "Yes Kamane-sama," before heading off to complete his task.

Sesshoumaru looked up at the larger Daiyoukai and huffed in aggravation. "You get your strength from training," he answered. Kamane laughed at the young inu youkai, but shook his head again. "First you learn to fight with your head," Kamane told the pup, flicking the crescent moon, causing him to fall over. "Then you learn to fight with your heart," Lirin informed her lovely pup, picking him up off the ground and setting him on his feet. Kamane crossed his arms over his chest as he smiled at his mate. "When you have something to protect you are at your most powerful. Do you have something to protect, Sesshoumaru?" Both inus looked at their pup, golden eyes waiting for his reaction. "I shall protect my Haha-ue when my Chichi-ue is unable. I shall protect my Chichi-ue when my Haha-ue is unable," Sesshoumaru stated boldly, baring his fangs. Lirin bent down, silver hair falling over her shoulders as she kissed the small youkai's blue crescent moon. "I'm sure you will, my pup," she purred. Kamane looked at his family with love clear in his golden eyes.

Soo what do you think? I needed to fit in a very important line. Do you know what it was? "Do you have someone to protect?" Yup that'd be it. Seeing I cut out the confrontation between Sesshoumaru and his father, putting his mother in his place, I need to fit this line in. So please review and let me know what you think.
