Miroku enjoys playing with the sexual tension around Lady Kagome and Inuyasha. It is plainly obvious the two have feelings for each other, and while Lady Kagome is more open with her feelings, she will not and does not ever show the feeling of love towards Inuyasha. And Inuyasha, being the temperamental and moody person he is, will never show his feelings of love, unless he is in the presence of Kikyo. While not in the presence of Kikyo, glances are made, and the two try hard to disguise their countenance of one of disgust, while in reality, they sincerely long for each other.
Days on end, the two bicker, and Miroku has a hard time not beating Lady Kagome and Inuyasha with a stick. Of course, Inuyasha would have no effect to the stick, but perhaps Lady Kagome will. Then Inuyasha would feel the need to protect her, and in effect, show a little bit more of his feelings. The only time they do not disguise their longing and desire for one another is when there's a battle going on. Much to Miroku's dismay, they haven't come up to a demon/half-demon/Kikyo/Naraku/whoever the hell is chasing them yet. That's a first.
Perhaps Miroku should try to flirt with Lady Kagome again. That always gets underneath Inuyasha's skin, but alas, Miroku has his eyes on Sango. He does not want to give away the wrong signal. Hmm . . . perhaps he should ask Sango to bear his child. . .
"You're going back to your world again?" Inuyasha's irritated voice calls out again.
Ah, Lady Kagome is going back to her own world. Miroku doesn't understand the reasons why her traveling back and forth is necessary. He doesn't get this so-called 'high school' she has to attend. Is the building very high in prestige, or is the building very tall? And what is the delectable food she always brings back? The noodles are mixed with spices and vegetables and in a soft, inedible cup. Perhaps Lady Kagome will bring more when she comes back.
"I've got a huge math test, Inuyasha. If I don't study, I'll be held back, and I'll probably have to go back even more!" Lady Kagome explains.
"Feh, if 'math' is as hard it was mastering that metal thing you will get 'held back' whatever that means," Inuyasha mumbles.
Miroku doesn't understand. The metal 'bicycle' was easy to master. It was just a matter of cycling your feet as if you were walking. The tricky thing was driving the invention. Miroku wonders if the person who made Ramen invented the 'bicycle'.
"Are you saying I'm dumb?" Lady Kagome hollers.
"No, I'm saying, you shouldn't go. We need to find more shards."
"Whatever. I'm going. I don't want to fail."
"With your luck, you will."
"Hey!"
"At least bring someone with you. We might find some shards there. . ." Inuyasha says, trying to hide his shy smile. This amuses Miroku.
"Are you saying you want to go with me?"
"No! I was just suggesting—"
"Miroku, do you want to come?" Lady Kagome asks suddenly.
This surprises Miroku. Is Lady Kagome using jealousy as her tactic of showing her affection? Or is this merely a question of whether or not he really wants to come? Either way, this question riles up Inuyasha to a point where he is just spewing out anger, gritting his teeth and what not. Miroku has underestimated Lady Kagome's cleverness. Perhaps going into her world will finally end the sexual tension that no one can destroy.
Miroku replies, "Why, of course, Lady Kagome, I shall journey with you. Will we stop for this Ramen on the way—?"
As a result, a result that pleases Miroku, Inuyasha's jealous erupts. "Wha—I didn't mean that! I'll go!"
And thus ends the sexual tension of Lady Kagome and Inuyasha. Though, Miroku is disappointed. He was looking forward to the food called Ramen.
