A/N: This was originally going to be a one-shot idea but that kind of didn't work TT so I made it into a poem instead.
Even though I'm not good at writing poetry I hope you like it anyway…
Basically, it's about Katara's thoughts on the 'scar' in the forest in episode seven, and her finding the acorn.
Disclaimer: I do not own Avatar: The last airbender
Acorn
A wound, a mark, a scar,
My brother tells us,
That is what it looks like,
Taking the place of what once was.
A wound, a mark, a scar on the land
Which was once green and full of life.
Like I am full of anger now,
How could they do this?
Marking the land like it is theirs to own,
Charging through,
No regard for what is living.
I feel small, so small,
There was nothing
I could do,
I look at my friend,
And know,
That he feels the same,
And worse because of who he is,
Is there really nothing I can do?
My fingertips,
They brush,
Against something hard and smooth,
An acorn?
Suddenly I do not feel so small.
