Harry, Ginny, Cho - The Dramatic Love Triangle

Chapter 1 - Years In Review

Harry was 17 going on 45.  He was the most high-profiled person he knew, as well as the most troubled.  He was going through a period in his life where he thought that every little problem was the worst thing that could ever happen.  Not that some of these problems weren't.  3 years ago Voldermort, or to those other non-muggles who he was getting very sick of lately -- He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, had reappeared successfully.  This created some major problems, including the killing of one of Harry's classmates.

What baffled many though, was that after Harry had escaped from Voldemort's grasp, the evil one was not to be seen or heard from in 3 years.  Sure, there was talk of where he was and the Death Eaters were starting to get rather rambunctious, but Voldemort had stayed hidden during this time period.  Harry and others were still attending weekly meetings led by Dumbledore himself in which plans were discussed on how to handle Voldemort when he finally unloaded his major plan of destruction in which he was surely creating.  But other than that, nothing major had happened.

And so they went on with their lives as normal as possible. They, being Harry, Ron, Hermoine, and everyone else who knew of the circumstances (which by now was almost every person in the wizarding world).  Side's were forming at Hogwarts, it was easy to tell who's family backed the dark lord and who's didn't.  The last three years had been rather uneventful, which is what scared Harry to death.

It was Harry's last year at Hogwart's, and he just had a bad feeling. He knew that if Voldemort was going to strike, it would be this year.  And he WAS going to stike.  Never in his life had Harry been more sure of anything than this.

Besides the whole Voldemort situation, Harry's life had been pretty relaxed. There was a little situation of love though. Yes, there is always that little situation.  Harry was madly in love, or so he thought, with his classmate Cho Chang. Well, actually, EX-classmate. She was now an intern at Hogwarts, and Harry made it his priority to visit with her everyday.  Ginny, Ron's little sister and Harry's close friend in recent years, hated this.  Harry wasn't exactly sure why - he liked Ginny well enough, but he had never thought of her THAT way.  Maybe Ginny just didn't think that Harry should be hanging on an older girl, that's probably it.

"Hey Cho, I need 5000 copies of the school's illness records by 5:00p.m.", Harry joked, walking into the office that was shared by the school's secretaries and interns alike.

"Oh shut up Harry, you know that's not what I do at all! I am training to be an office assistant, and they do much more than staple copies!"

"Come on now Cho, you know I was just kidding.  Besides, you staple crooked," Harry said with a smug grin on his face.

" I do not! Now get out of here Harry Potter, I've got work to do," Cho said as she turned and started typing on her computer.

Harry turned and walked out of the room with a big grin on his face. A few years ago Harry wouldn't have had the courage to say hello to Cho, but after having a near-death experience, things like that tend to change.

Just then Harry saw Ron running down the hall calling his name."Harry, Harry, come quick! Something's happened! We have to go to the Griffindor Common Room RIGHT NOW!"

Harry and Ron hurried up the stairs, Harry wondering what surprise was awaiting him this time.
