There he is.

Should I go talk to him?

Maybe not.

I don't think he knows that I exist.

Hinata looked woefully down at her feet as Naruto passed, unaware that she was there.

I knew it.

He didn't even see me.

It stinks to be me.

She tilted her head up just a little bit to see him walking away. Walking towards Sakura and Sasuke. His butter-yellow hair stuck out. She liked him that way though, how he was so determined to be hokage, and how different he was. She was also envious of him, she wanted his courage. Maybe she could borrow it and ask him out. She looked up a little more to see that he was talking with Sakura.

He likes Sakura.

Not me.

When will I just give up?

I can see the way he feels about her.

His cheeks blush, and his heart pounds.

I wish he would be like that towards me

But she knew he wouldn't.

"Hey Hinata, are you ready to start training?" said Kiba walking up.

"Um…. Uh-huh." Said Hinata walking towards. She took one more glance at Naruto then he disappeared behind the trees. Another morning had went by and she hadn't talked to him.

Ok, Today's the day. Todays the day I'll talk to him.

Thought Hinata as she took her usual spot.

Naruto should be coming up soon.

She watched until the butter-yellow boy came into view. He wore his usual expression.

All right, I'm going to talk to him.

Then a thought struck her.

What will I say?!

She started to panic. Naruto was getting closer and closer until he was right in front of her.

What do I say?

Hi?

Hello?

Whats up?

But as fast as he got there he was gone. Going to meet Sakura and Sasuke yet again.

I didn't talk to him.

I lost my one chance for today.

Ugh. When will I get the courage?

Oh Naruto if only I could borrow yours.

She got her last glances of him smiling and talking until Kiba and Shino turned up and took her away.

Tomorrow, for sure.

She quietly promised herself.

Today she got up extra early and went to her usual spot. It gave her more time to think of what to say and how to say it.

Ok.

How should I start?

Should I be formal and say Hello?

Or maybe a simple "Hey"?

He seems like more of the Hi type.

And it'll be easier if I take baby steps.

So I'll say Hi.

I'll say Hi Naruto

"Hi Naruto." She said experimenting with the sentence. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw him walking up.

Remember baby steps.

She reminded herself.

He got closer and closer.

"Hi Naruto." She said as he walked by.

"Oh Hi Hinata! Are you here every morning?" he asked looking at her.

"Uh ye-

"What's that Sasuke?" he said running towards him and abandoning her.

I did it!

She didn't care if he ran off. She talked to him.

I talked to him and he talked back!

It's the start.

Maybe I'll finally be able to confess my feelings for him.

She let a smile creep across her face.

"Hey Hinata you're sure in high spirits today." Said Kiba walking up.

"Yeah." She said looking at Naruto. "I am."

Sweet! I can't wait until she finally does!
