Chuck knew he shouldn't have been in his friend, Frank's tent. But he didn't want to miss the opportunity to possibly see Frank's sister, Charin, before he and Frank had to leave to go to the land of Nod.

Chuck whispered, "Charin, are you here?" as he squinted, trying to see in the dark tent. " He stepped forward, and the small bit of light he had been able to see disappeared as a giant mask descended over his head.

Chuck stumbled outside the tent, trying to pull off the mask. It was the alligator head Frank had threatened to use in a trap for anyone who messed with his sister. Chuck ran away from the tent to avoid being seen with the mask.

After pulling on the mask and running for a few miles, Chuck tripped over something and fell, face first in the dirt.

"What are you doing?" he heard a surprised female voice ask.

"What am I doing?" Chuck exclaimed, "Struggling with a mask here! Could you give me a little help?"

"Uh, well, I don't know," the woman said. "You're touching that which is forbidden."

"Forbidden?" Chuck asked.

"Yeah. You're touching the forbidden fruit, the tomato," the woman replied.

"Uh, I don't want to argue here or anything, but I'm pretty sure tomatoes are vegetables."

"Vegetables?" the woman laughed, "No, the it's definitely a fruit. The forbidden fruit, after all."

"Well yeah, botanically speaking it's the seed-containing ovary of a flowering plant, but it's more appropriately labeled a vegetable," Chuck explained, "which is a culinary term with no botanical meaning that fits the tomato because it's less acidic than other fruits. That's why I eat them on salads all the time."

"Wait! Did you just say you eat tomatoes?" The woman was shocked.

"Of course I eat tomatoes! In fact, I've got a great pizza sauce recipe I'd be happy to share with you," Chuck casually remarked before changing tone to finish, "if you help me up!"

"But God told us not to eat the tomato."

"Look, did it ever occur to you that maybe this god guy just told you that the tomato was forbidden and stuff because he wanted them all for himself?"

"Well, no, that's absurd. He cares about us. He said that we'd die."

"Is it? Look, once my friend Frank told us all that we'd die if didn't stop messing with his sister. But it turned out that she wasn't really cursed. He just wanted his own turn because-"

"Maybe you're right!" the woman interrupted, "Maybe he's just afraid that I'll learn from this experience and be like him. I'm going to eat it!"

"Yeah, that's right, you got it! But first, could you give me a hand here?" Chuck asked. No one replied.

"Excuse me?" Chuck pleaded. "A little help here? Hello!"

Chuck rolled over to face the sky, still unable to see through the alligator mask, until the mask disappeared, and a bright light filled his eyes.

"What's going on?" Chuck asked.

"That's what I'd like to know!" replied the upside-down head of Frank slowly fading in to Chuck's vision as his pupils adjusted for the sunlight. "I've been trying to find supplies for the trip for an hour, and here I find you using my mask for role playing with a hot naked girl."

"What? Naked?" Chuck asked, slowly standing from the ground to follow Frank, who was already walking toward the land of Nod.

"Yeah, well, apparently you made quite the impression because she's ran away. Now it's just you and a bunch of fruit," Frank called back.

Chuck scurried to catch up with Frank in the distance, shouting, "Uh, I'm pretty sure they're vegetables."
