This is a wannabe "missing scene" kind of oneshot, it's a little straightforward so you'll have to excuse that, plus it's pretty cliché.

Anyway, this will be the last thing I post on this site until Friday. But don't worry, I have a story that I'm posting then called "Out from the Ashes" It's pretty cool and it's five chapters long plus an epilogue, so I hope you can hold out until then. (Which I think you can since I gave you, like, three new oneshots in a week to sink your teeth into.)

Fighter

"Katara!" Aang called when he saw Katara sitting on the pier, her face downcast and her feet swishing in the water. Aang had just finished talked to Zuko and was informed of Katara's choice not to get revenge, and he was overwhelmed with joy for her. "How are you doing?"

"I'm doing fine." She sniffed; her shakily strong voice was falling to deaf ears for Aang, because all he saw was her eyes. They were glossed over with many layers of pain and sadness and Aang couldn't help buy fold her into his arms. He hadn't hugged her in forever, it seemed, and the emotional build up was too much to keep vented in that he took any opening he could find.

"I'm proud of you, you know." He whispered to her.

"Why?"

"Zuko told me what you did…or didn't do, you did the right thing. Forgiveness is the first step to begin healing." He hugged her tighter, smiling when he felt her hands curl around the arm that was around her shoulder.

"But I didn't forgive him...I'll never forgive him."

"You say that now, but you already have." He felt her shake her head softly under his and he bent down to kiss her head. She sighed.

"I wanted to do it though. I wanted to take out all my anger at him, but I couldn't. And I don't whether it's because I was too weak to, or because I'm strong enough not to."

"It's because you're stronger Katara." He kissed her head again. "And doing that made you stronger than you'll ever know." She pulled away and locked her eyes with his, getting a smug satisfaction when she saw his cheeks color.

"Thanks Aang. I needed to hear that." She kissed his cheek swiftly and made a move to stand and walk away, but was stopped when Aang's hand wrapped firmly around her wrist. He stood and joined her, placing a cool hand on her cheek and pulling her closer.

"You're a fighter Katara, don't you forget that." It was Katara's turn to blush now, but despite that Aang's face remained serious.

"You know you're the only reason I didn't do it. What you said got to me I guess." Katara tried to keep the conversation platonic but with his breath on her face like that it was a little hard. And he was so….so close.

"That was the plan," he whispered, his lips brushed her with every word until the space between them became unbearable.

He kissed her. It was soft and short but enough to leave Aang dazed.

"I should go." Katara said as soon as she regained her breath. She blushed once again when Toph, Sokka and Suki jumped off of Appa.

"Yeah," Aang sighed and waved to her wistfully.

"And Aang," Katara said, turning once more to face him. "Thanks."

"No problem."

Pretty pointless, pretty fluffy, pretty short, pretty…pretty. See you on Friday.
