A/N: This is my first piece for "Breakout Kings", a show which I am completely and totally in love with. It is also probably the shortest little fic I've ever written. Inspired by the episode "Paid in Full", this is my personal view of Lloyd Lowry's emotional dilemma as revealed during this episode. It's my first attempt at Lloyd, so please be gentle with your reviews. Thank you!

"Regret is ... an unavoidable result of any loss, for in loss we lose the tomorrow that we needed to make right our yesterday or today." ~ Gerald Lawson Sittser
Twenty-five years to pay.
Payment for choices made, for mistakes that cannot be undone. Payment for a life lost, for a journey brought to a sudden stop. Payment for tears shed, for grief endured. Payment for regret that will never be expressed, for remorse that will never be accepted.
Twenty-five years to think.
Think about what you have done, what you have said. Think about why you did it, why you said it. Think about the damage you've inflicted, the pain you've caused. Think about the hurt they must feel, the innocent lives you have ruined.
Twenty-five years to reflect.
Reflect on the selfishness that caused your actions. Reflect on the life you have destroyed because of your actions. Reflect on the way you ran from your actions. Reflect on the consequences you will now face because of your actions.
Twenty-five years to grieve.
Grieve for what has been lost. Grieve for what can never be repaired. Grieve for what will never be whole again. Grieve for the life that can never again be lived.
Twenty-five years to pay.
Pay for a crime that has been committed. Pay for a debt that will never be settled. Pay for the damage that has been caused. Pay for a life never intended to be lost.
Twenty-five years.
Twenty-five years of payment. Twenty-five years of regret. Twenty-five years of grief. Twenty-five years of reflection.
Twenty-five years to go.
