Author's notes: Once upon a very boring Wednesday-evening, after an evening-class that went on forever, my muse started writing something short. I was seriously feeling fic-deprived so my muse decided to help me out. And here's the result.
I wrote this with Teyla/Kate in mind but it could be anyone really. I hope you enjoy and feedback is always appreciated.
She was standing out on the balcony, watching the vast ocean surrounding the city. There was a soft breeze playing with her dark hair, but she did not feel. She was rocking back and forth on the balls of her bare feet on the cold floor, but she did not feel. She was hugging herself, comforting, but she did not feel. Her face was wet with shed tears and more still followed, but she did not feel.
She tried desperately to stop the flow and did her very best to feel, but she did not. More tears followed the first flood and she choked her own sounds so that the being asleep inside wouldn't be disturbed. She didn't want the other to know she was torn, she was in pain and yet she did not feel.
She wanted to cry out to the ocean below. She wanted to scream till her voice would give out. She wanted to hit something until there was no strength left in her body. She wanted to feel so badly but she did not.
She was so desperate to feel she did not hear the soft padding of bare feet on the floor. She did not notice the tender figure sneaking up behind to her, like a lioness stalking her prey. She did not feel the arms that slowly pulled her closer. She did not feel the soft caressing hands, wiping the tears away. She did not feel the body of her lover pressed against her own, as she slowly let her head fall on the other one's shoulder.
She sank to the floor, all her strength gone in an instant, pulling her companion with her. She clung to her savior as she cried, until she could cry no more. She was being comforted by her other half, softly rocking back and forth whispering sweet nothings in her hair.
She was sitting curled up in her lover's embrace, watching the vast ocean surrounding the city. She could hear the steady heartbeat which was more comforting than any gesture or word. The soft breeze was caressing her face, sending shivers down her back. She sighed, the last of her fears dissipating in the night.
She felt safe.
When all was calm, she did feel.
