A young girl stared out of a frosted glass window onto an unfamiliar, sodden landscape. It was as if the weather was agreeing with her mood, icy rain was pouring from a dark sky that allowed the landscape only dim light. Somewhere behind the grey clouds the girl knew the sun was shining but the teen was struggling to find the silver lining in her own bleak situation.

It was strange how a small movement could create a series of even bigger changes, the ripple effect, only in this case the movement was in fact so tiny that unless on the receiving end of it you would never have known it had happened, yet the effect was so big it threatened her life, and ultimately, although she didn't know it, the lives of everyone else on her team, because in one miniscule movement a blade had pierced her skin sending ripples of poison around her entire body.

The longer the cut was on her arm the itchier it became so in an effort to stop scratching the wound she had put on a black, long sleeved shirt, the colour seemed only too appropriate. She knew she was dying. The girl wondered what would happen after her death, it was strange, to be dying here, a world away from her home but it felt appropriate that she was dying like this protecting the person she loved, they'd all known that was how it would end hadn't they? Even if they hadn't said it aloud they'd known. Would they-Could they take her body back? How would they explain it? What would they tell her parents? All this was considering they even got back themselves, not that she had any doubts about that, they were all more than capable of getting home, even without her.

As She sat on the window ledge she rested her forehead on the cold glass watching water trickle down the opposite side and her breath condense in front of her eyes, frosting the glass. She hadn't told anyone about the poison, she knew deep down that there was probably only one cure, and she knew exactly who had it but if she'd told everyone they would have gone to get it and agreed to everything and anything just to save her life and the lives of everybody in this world were much more important than her singular life.

The teen closed her eyes, she could feel her heart pounding against her ribcage, every beat sending more poison throughout her body like a metronome or even a timer counting down the seconds until her death was upon her.

In hindsight perhaps she should have told someone about the poison, anyone, maybe someone could have healed her somehow but it had seemed like an impossible task and no-one needed the unnecessary worry which was why everyone else was in the next room discussing their next move and she'd slunk off to sit in here alone and contemplate her death, something most people didn't get to do.

The poison reached her heart all too quickly she thought as breathing became harder and her vision swam in front of her, she was vaguely aware of the door opening as someone came in but it was far too late. As she slipped from the window ledge Asuna's earlier words echoed in her mind 'Do you just not do dying Honya?"

She was dead before she hit the floor.
