The trio sat together behind the Burrow. The trio was composed of two boys and a girl. Now this trio was a very important group of children. Simply two months before we find these children lounging in the warm rays of the sun the three of them stopped a mad man from obtaining immortal life. They were silent as they sat together. Simply enjoying each other's presence. They didn't care to be flying in that moment. Or chasing each other around the orchard. Instead they simply wanted to be together. Be the trio they had become while away at school.
Unbeknown to them they were being watched by the matriarch of the Burrow. She stood at the kitchen window and watched them curiously. She knew about the stone. She knew that they were considered heroes by those that knew what had happened. But all she saw was three children. Three young and vulnerable children that were already being forced to grow up. It made her sad to see her baby boy and his best friends growing up before their time.
She was watching her son's best mate Harry Potter after her sons had saved him from the Dursley's prison. She had watched the slim and silent boy as he joked around with his friends and still offered to help her out around the house. She knew his family life wasn't what it should be. She didn't know much but from what she could tell he hadn't been given much if any love in his young life. She vowed to welcome the young boy into her family as a seventh son.
She then watched her son's other best friend Hermione Granger. She was watching her as her parents went to some kind of conference. She thought they mentioned something about teeth. That child was a polite yet very passionate child. She was wise beyond her twelve years told. She was also very bright. She watched as the girl helped Ginny prepare for her first year. She had watched as the young girl curled up on anything soft and read book after book. But she could see in her insecurities that she hadn't had a normal childhood. She could tell the child didn't have many friends before Hogwarts and she worried that it had affected her ability to socialize and connect with others her age. And she was worried that since her parents were muggles they would never truly understand their only daughter. Hermione would need someone that lived in the magical world to guide her as she grew up. She vowed to welcome the young girl into her family as her second daughter.
Molly Weasley smiled at that. She had gone from having 7 children to having 9 in a matter of moments. She knew that the trio would have a difficult time if their first year was anything to go by. So she would give them the summers to be children. They would be encouraged to act like children their age and not like the young adults they were turning into. Yes her trio would be just fine.
(I know its short but let me know what you think. Thanks! I do not own Harry Potter no matter how many memory charms I use. It belongs to JK Rowling.)
