A/N: K, this is my second fanfic and first Bleach fanfic. Hope you like it.

Disclaimer: I don't own the plot, characters or anything except my idea for this fic.

The clock on the shelf was ticking the time away.

Byakuya was still in a daze, not because he had just awoken but even after all these years, Hisana's death anniversary was something he never looked forward to.

He was going through their wardrobe when he caught sight of her clothes. Involuntarily, he picked them up and held them close to himself, getting a whiff of her scent. How he longed for her to be there with him…

He was still hugging the cloth when he caught sight of something. Quickly, he pulled it out from the cloth's pocket and studied it. It was a photo of him and his wife before her passing away…

She looked as beautiful as ever, but you could clearly see the strain her delicate face had. It was a tell-tale of her fate and ha felt surreal.

He was in the act of putting the photograph away when ha noticed wordings on the photo's backside. He turned it over and read:

Farewells may come one day

But still, the seasons will come and go.

I may lose my way a little

But I'll walk; I'll walk with you;

That's the one thing I'll never change,

Byakuya-sama.

Byakuya caught his breath as the words sank in and engraved themselves in his heart. The side of his cheeks glistened as he shed tears.

He was still caught in the moment when footsteps sounded and his door slid open.

"Nii-sama, are you alright?" Rukia asked deeply concerned as her punctual brother wasn't punctual as usual.

"Yes. I'm alright." Byakuya answered her worried question and smiled. Not the cold, sarcastic smile he had and rarely used; but the soft, tender one he reserved only for his wife.

Rukia rest assured and left the room feeling a little puzzled by her brother's strange behavior. She figured that it was that time of year and left it at that.

In his room, Byakuya put the kimono back in its place and shut the wardrobe. He was silent for a moment and then, "I love you, Hisana" he whispered, more to himself than anyone in particular.

He then followed Rukia out the room in his usual air and cold exterior while he thought back to those words and allowed himself another smile as he made his way for that the.

A/N: I don't own Hisana's words. They're the english translation of Miho Fukuhara's "Let it out" (Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood's 2nd ending theme.) Check out the song. It's really touching! ^^ Well anyway, hope you liked it! ^^
