Will history repeat itself?
Nate broke away from the kiss, his body begging for more oxygen.
"You call me, you tell me you need me...so you can do this?" Sophie choked out her words. Nate studied her face, he could see the hurt and sadness on her face, the one time her guard is completely let down. Her eyes are red-rimmed and glossy as she tries to hold back tears and her face is flushed pink from the slight cold.
"I make it obvious I want you. You leave me. And then this happens" Nate breathed, his eyes angry. He could feel the veins by the bullet wound pulsating and he knew he didn't have much time.
Sophie slapped him hard across the face, her bottom lip trembling slightly. She started to walk away from him as he brought a hand up to touch his cheek.
Nate grabbed her hand with his bloody one and leaned in close to her ear. "I wish you would prove me wrong"
Sophie stared blankly ahead, her mind only focused on Nates words and his blood on her hand. She stayed rooted to her spot for what seemed like eternity before his grip went limp.
Nate gripped his side tighter as he felt his knees buckle and his weight crash down on the boat. The last he saw before the world went back were her stiletto black heels walking away.
