I don't own Hetalia! end /AN/
Denmark sat quietly reading, very interested in the stories told on the pages. It had been a little while since he'd had time to do this, and even though he'd read them several times over the years and they really were ingrained into his memory, he enjoyed them immensely.
The Norse gods, the stories of his great heroes, they never disappointed. Now that he thought about it, Iceland would probably enjoy hearing these sometime in the future-
Something suddenly wriggled into his lap, and Denmark yelled in surprise, shoving it off forcefully. This caused to emit a high pitched scream, and Denmark froze in horror.
Iceland, the little tot Norway had found, lay at his feet, bawling his eyes out. Denmark could practically taste his own guilt. "Ice, I'm so sorry, I didn't know it was you, I didn't mean to!" And he reached his arms towards him, intending to pick him up and soothe him. But Iceland apparently decided there were better people to get soothed by, and threw himself onto his feet, running for the other room sobbing, "Noway! Noway!"
Denmark got to his feet to follow, but before he'd gotten far was met with Norway's stare. The other nation was holding Iceland, who was crying as though Denmark had been beating him. Denmark gulped.
"It... It was an accident, Norway, I didn't mean to hurt him!" Norway's face didn't change in the slightest. "What were you doing this time?"
"Nothing, he just jumped in my lap, and I... um, I kind of pushed him off... But I didn't know it was him!" Denmark grimaced a little at how bad it sounded. Norway only raised an eyebrow. "Who else his size lives in our house?"
Denmark turned a little redfaced. "It could have been the puffin... Or one of your creatures..."
Iceland had quieted down by now, as he'd been more startled than hurt. He was wiping at his eyes and sniffling. Denmark reached out carefully to pet his head. "Hey Ice, I'm sorry I pushed you... I didn't mean to hurt you. Are you still going to be my friend?"
Iceland waited a moment, then finally nodded, reaching for Denmark. "We can be friends."
Denmark grinned, taking Iceland. "Okay, then! I'm going to teach you how to ice skate!" Iceland laughed in delight, and the pair headed to get their winter things one. Norway sighed. He gave about ten minutes before Iceland came in crying about falling down again...
/AN/ Just a really short one, but I'm hoping it will encourage similiar ideas from other people! I personally find them very adorable...
