Arthur's POV:
I leaned heavily against my broom, tired of sweeping already. From what I could judge, Prince Merlin was a haughty, arrogant prince. He had no idea who I was, and where I was from, and I was glad. I finished sweeping, and made my way back up to the prince's chambers.
"There you are. What took you so long?" Prince Merlin inquired.
"I'm sorry, your highness, there was more sweeping to do then anticipated."
"Make sure it doesn't happen like that again, Arthur." Prince Merlin said, sounding irritated.
"Sorry, your highness." I whispered.
"Just go get my dinner, Arthur." Prince Merlin said, and I bowed and left the room, heading down to the kitchens.
"Prince Merlin's dinner." I inquired of the cook, and they handed me a plate filled with his favorite foods. I climbed the stairs, carefully taking the plate to the prince's room. I really didn't want to spill any, considering how displeased he was last time. I made it to Prince Merlin's room in one piece, and knocked softly on the door.
"Come in." Prince Merlin called, and I opened the door and set Prince Merlin's dinner down, and set silverware and cup full of water out for him.
"Your dinner, your highness." I said.
"Good. So, have you polished my armor and brushed my horse?" Prince Merlin inquired.
"Yes, your highness, I have." I answered.
"Good. After I'm finished, help me prepare for bed, and then carry my dishes back to the kitchen, and then you're dismissed." Prince Merlin stated.
"Yes, your highness." I replied. Prince Merlin finished his meal in silence, and I pondered why he was so arrogant, and when I looked at him, really looked at him, I saw my former self.
"Help me prepare for bed now, Arthur." Prince Merlin ordered. I helped him take off his jacket, got his night clothing, and then put his clothes and jacket away.
"Take my dishes away and you're dismissed." Prince Merlin said.
"Thank you, your highness." I responded, gathering his used dishes and leaving the room. I carried them down to the kitchen, deposited them with a kitchen servant, and wearily climbed back to my sleeping area. It was off of Prince Merlin's, a tiny little sleeping area, but large enough to fit a bed and a small nightstand, and it had a window that the moon shone through. I entered my chamber, tugged my shirt over my head, and collapsed wearily on my bed. I was out instantly, and slept dreamlessly and soundly.
