Never Touch the Ground
By SMYGO4EVA

"It's just that you're so..." Téa searched for the right word to say here. "Together. Or," she considered, "you know, wise. Like, you know a lot of stuff."

She knew that it was a weird thing to say to someone you're just spending time with as a friend, but she found that time just went by with the deeper philosophical questions. It opened your mind, expanded one's own horizons, or something like that.

"Well," Mai replied, sliding an arm around the brunette's shoulders, frowning in concentration, "I am older than you." She smiled at Téa's small blush as she put her hand on her shoulder, pulling her a little closer to her.

"Much older."

Téa closed her eyes and shook her heard. "Uh, you're not that old. You're not old-old."

"No," Mai answered. "Not old-old. But old enough."

"It's all right, Mai," The brunette said, opening her eyes and looking into the blonde's beautiful purple ones. "I mean, I like it."

She found herself placing a hand on the blonde duelist's hand, admiring how tender and strong they seemed to be.

"Téa, you think too much, you know?" Mai responded. "You need to stop thinking." She chuckled, softly.

She lifted her hand from underneath the brunette's and then held it back gently, the warmth emanating between the two joined hands. "How about I see if I help you stop thinking, for a little while, hun?"

"Yeah," Téa answered back, putting her head on Mai's shoulder, closing her eyes. "Yeah, that would be good."

Téa never wanted to let go of this moment and she wanted to never touch the ground from this dream again.
