It was just last night that Lucy and Natsu got together. The boy made sure Lucy knew just how much he loved her, how much he needed her. She melted automatically, confessed that she's been dreaming of this moment since they met. Natsu took her hand, caressing her lightly and smiled.
With a loud yawn Lucy stretched. She had slept very well, thanks to a certain fire mage… Getting out of bed she searched blindly for her slippers, her feet gliding over the carpet. But instead of her slippers she came into contact with a cold thing. With her eyes still shut she felt around for the object. Her fingertips found it eventually and she lifted it up, surprised by its weight.
"Oh, dear me", she whispered as she opened her eyes. In her hands she held a small casket. It was solid metal with little engraving, almost too little to see. What she could make out were two dragons, entwined. Carefully she opened it to check out the insides. But to her surprise there was nothing for her to discover.
She was sitting at the bar chatting away with Mira, when Natsu showed up and put an arm around her shoulders.
"Morning, sweetheart", he murmured as he kissed her cheek. Lucy giggled sweetly but continued to laugh. Mira was jumping around, waving with her kitchen towel.
"I told you so!", she yelled at Lucy who was smiling like a mad woman.
"Anyways", the blonde said turning to Natsu, "what is this supposed to mean?" Holding out the casket to her boyfriend she raised her eyebrows. But said boyfriend just took a good look at it and shook his head.
"Never seen it before in my life."
"What?", Lucy whined.
"Aw, sorry! Gotta go, that iced prick needs some warmth for his cold heart!"
Natsu dashed away, jumping over his friends and knocked out nakama.
"Oh, what the darn."
Exhausted, Lucy came home. She was carrying the casket in her hands, still unable to figure it out. If Natsu didn't leave it here, then who did? That guy was the only one capable of breaking in without her noticing. And since there were engraved dragons it couldn't have been Loki. It had to be Natsu! Still, that dork didn't confess to being the culprit, so she had to let him off. She decided to just go to bed a little earlier as she was very tired from keeping her boyfriend at bay. Since she was now kind of responsible for that idiot she had to be alarmed all the time and it was wearing her out. As she laid down, forgetting to fluff her pillow, she furrowed her eyebrows. There was something off with it. So she turned on the lights and lifted her pillow. Under it was a bracelet. It was made out of the same material as the casket but was very light. The bracelet looked delicate so she was afraid of breaking it. It consisted of some long metal strips, which were, too, engraved with dragons. Lucy moved it in the faint light. It seemed as if the dragons were moving.
"Do you like it?" Lucy startled and looked at the windows. Natsu was sitting there, once again, smiling. Her expression softened and she nodded.
"It is very beautiful." But then it hit her.
"So you did do it!" The boy scratched the back of his head sheepishly and grinned.
"Yeah, it was me. Surprise, surprise."
"But… why? It must have cost a fortune!", Lucy exclaimed.
"Let's not talk about money, sweetheart." He descended from the windowsill and crawled into her bed. Then he took the bracelet form her and slipped it on her wrist tenderly.
"Since you're mine now, I gotta mark you, right?" He grinned again.
"You are a big dork, you know?"
"Yeah, but I'm your big dork!", he said before he leaned down and kissed the living daylights out of her.
