Disclaimer: I do not and never will own Harry Potter. *crosses arms* Hmmph!
Unrequited Confusion.
Hermione sighed as she set down her quill, staring at the tall figure who just walked into the library. He grabbed a book of the shelf and walked over to an empty table. pulling a piece of parchment out of his bag, he began writing, looking over at the book every once and a while.
Her charms essay, that was due the next day, lay forgotten on the table as she gazed at the boy. Her elbow was propped on the table supporting her face. She noted how adorable he was when his eyebrows furrowed in concentration or how she could get lost in his eyes so easily.
"I found it!" Ginny said triumphantly, breaking Hermione out of her trance, as she sat down on the seat next to her.
"Um, G-Good," Hermione replied looking back down at her parchment.
"Tell me about him," Ginny said, staring at her expectedly.
"What? Who?" She said a little too quickly causing a light blush to form on her cheeks.
"The guy you're fawning over and don't deny it Hermione," she replied impatiently.
"Fine, promise you'll keep this between us."
"I promise, now spit it out. It's not everyday I get to talk boys with a bookworm like you," Ginny replied anxiously.
"I don't know what to do, Gin. I can't stop thinking about him and whenever he walks in a room my concentration goes completely out the window, which is extremely bad seeing as we share a lot of the same classes." she sighed before continuing, "I try to forget about him but it doesn't work, my brain just shuts down and I end up staring at him. I'm pretty sure he's starting to notice and it's embarrassing to say the least."
"Sound to me like you are in love," Ginny replied softly, putting a comforting hand on Hermione's shoulder.
"Don't say that, I'm not in love with him. It's just a simple crush that won't go away," she replied curtly.
"Being in denial isn't good for you Hermione." She said getting out of her chair," I have to go the Defence against the Dark Arts now but we'll talk more later, okay."
Hermione inwardly groaned she didn't want to talk about feelings. She was good at learning, and doing spells but when it came to sorting out feelings it was a disaster.
Ginny turned around again before leaving, "You should talk to Ron, I'm pretty sure he feels the same way,"
"Really, Who does Ron like?" Hermione replied before realising what the youngest Weasley had meant. "Shouldn't you be getting to class Ginny, you don't want to be late."
Ginny looked at her sceptically informing Hermione that they would talk later before walking out of the library.
Hermione once again looked over at the boy she was talking about. The sun shining through the window land on his blond hair, giving him an odd angelic glow. His usual smirking face was replaced by one of pure concentration. A look that Hermione found to be quite adorable.
She got up, placing her books and homework in her bag. She left the library, quickly talking one last look at him before her departure. She sighed realising that she would have a lot of explaining to do when Ginny arrived in the common room tonight.
Authors Note: Thanks for reading! This was my first attempt at a Harry Potter fanfic. I don't know why but I never seem to get inspiration when it comes to writing for the Harry Potter category, which is strange because like you guys I love the books. Hopefully I'll write more for this catagory in the future since Dramione is obviously awesome. I would love to hear your opinions on this since it's the first time I've written a HP fic, so a review would be nice.
