disclaimer: I do not own Avatar...
This is my first Taang fic. Usually I write Kataang and Tokka. It's short and pointless, but a lot of prople like that so I hope you guys enjoy it. I got this idea from a pic on deviantart. I don't remember what the pic was but it really wasn't anything like this fic, that was just the inspiration. This was like a ten minute thing, but oh well. Tell me how it is.
So read and then... (drumroll) review!
"Hey Toph! Hey Toph! Look at this!"
Toph rolled her eyes. He was holding something, but what was it exactly. "Sounds like paper…."
"Yep. It's a picture."
Toph blinked. "You've gotta be kidding me…. Aang, have you forgotten or are you really that stupid?"
Aang gave a slightly girlish giggle and sat down beside her. "Nope. I made it for you."
Toph's eyes widened. "You're kidding right? Aang, I'm blind! What on earth am I suppose to do with it?"
Aang smiled. "Keep it."
"Why? Aang, its paper. I can't see it."
"I know."
"Are you trying to torture me?"
"It was Sokka's idea."
"Figures…."
"No I mean…. Um…."
Toph tilted her head to the side in confusion. She could feel his heart speed up. He was obviously uncomfortable.
"Would you just keep it? Please?"
Toph shook her head. What was he trying to do? It was paper. Why would she carry it around with her? "Fine."
Aang beamed. "Thanks Toph!"
"Whatever."
Aang handed it to her and she took it, running her fingers over the paper. Whatever he had used to draw on it had left extra deep lines in the paper. She opened her mouth but Aang was already gone. She sighed and stuffed it into her pocket.
Later that night Toph rolled around in her earth tent finally stopping and lying on her back. What was on the paper? Why had he been so eager to give it to her? It was driving her crazy but she knew better than to ask someone to tell her what was on it.
She sighed and pulled it out of her pocket slamming it onto the earth, and then started running her fingers over it again. It felt like he forced whatever he had used almost through the paper. Her eyes widened. She put her hand on the corner and then followed the path he had made with her fingers. It was kind of hard, but she was sure she could figure out what was on the paper.
The next morning Toph was still "looking" at the paper. She had gone to sleep only to wake up extra early. Finally she stopped, pulling her hand away from the paper in shock. Maybe she had traced it wrong? How was she supposed to know if that was how people really drew? But… no… she had done it so many times. A bright blush flew to her face. She let her tent fall down and then picked up the paper running to Katara. She hadn't wanted to ask her before but now she had to know.
"Katara wake up!"
Katara rolled over groggily. "What Toph?"
"What's on this paper?"
Katara blinked in confusion and then took the paper from her. "Oh… wow."
"Wow?"
"Who made this, Toph?"
"Um… Aang said he did…."
Katara was still for a moment and then she started laughing.
Toph felt frustrated. "What? What's so funny?!"
Katara finally stopped laughing and set down the paper. "Toph…do you let your hair down when you go to sleep?"
Toph paused. "Um yeah, sometimes."
"How long is your hair?"
"…Pretty long…. What does this have to do with the paper?"
Katara laughed and handed the paper back to Toph. "It turns out Aang is quite an artist."
"What do you mean?"
"I think you may have an admirer."
I may add more Taang oneshots to this...
