Yuma knew a few things when it came to life. You might not always get what you want and things might not always go the way you want them to, but there's not always something you can do about that. Those kinds of bad instances could get anyone down. However, Yuma wasn't one to feel down about life.
Sure, he might not be the best duelist, his grades aren't top in the class, and he might not always be on time, but why complain about it? That just reminds you about what's getting you down. Yuma just went with the flow and let those events pass through his life like nothing. Hey, maybe he'd even coin a phrase about going with the flow. He had a good feeling it would catch on.
If he let those silly things get him down then life would be boring. If you're not going to take risks in life because you're afraid of making a fool out of yourself, why bother going outside? The days are too short for worrying. You just have to go outside and take your chances. Unlike other kids his age, Yuma didn't find sunlight and fresh air to be harmful.
Yuma smiled just thinking about his day went by. He was late to class, got detention as a result, lost his duel against Tetsuo, missed the 20 stack jump, got hit by a litter bot, and then got yelled at by Akari when she found out he was dueling. Even with all of those unfortunate events that rolled by, Yuma wasn't going to mope around about it. That wasn't him.
Look at the bright side, Yuma thought. I missed part of math, which is awesome. I had detention with Mr. Ukyo, and he loves me so I got let out early. I might have lost to Tetsuo, but I still had an awesome duel. I got past the 10 mark on the jump, which is a new record for me! Getting smacked by that litter bot didn't hurt that much and Akari didn't even take away my deck.
Yuma pushed his homework aside and took out his deck, maybe make a strategy for tomorrow's duel. Sure, that assignment might hurt his grade a little, but he'd think about that later. Right now, he wasn't going to have any complaints.

A/N: This was inspired by the song Can't Complain by Relient K. Yes, I listened to this song while writing and editing. You guys should check it out!
I've got a cool idea about writing stories inspired by songs that I'm definitely going through with. (Not that people don't already do that.) It'll be a variety of one-shots and multi-chapter stories. (No promises on release dates, but there's something based of New Perspective by Panic! At the Disco and another based on The A Team by Ed Sheeran in progress.)
So what do you guys think? Hope you enjoyed this and leave some suggestions for songs that could make cool stories!
