Prologue
Talons thumped on stone as SkyWing soldiers exited the palace swiftly, racing outside before taking off into the sky. One of the SkyWings, a dark crimson male, hurried to find his family before he had to leave. His bright orange eyes searched the floor of the palace. He was sure they were waiting thereā¦
Ahah! He had spotted them, jumping off the balcony and soaring downwards. He spread out his long wings and landed in front of them. Two red dragons of the sky were standing by the waterfall, rainbow mist battering their scales.
"Father!" His dragonet cried, bolting straight to him. His wife smiled, watching as her daughter hugged her husband tightly. "We're going to miss you, Turbulence." She said softly. Turbulence stepped closer, with one wing around his daughter and one extending for his wife. "I know. But don't worry. I'll be real soon. It's not a major fight. Pyrriha is at peace."
Turbulence's wife, Gale, gave him a stern look. "You still have to take it seriously, major or not. We could still lose you. Who knows what would happen if we did." She buried her ruby colored head in his shoulder. Their young dragonet, around 4 years old, pulled herself from her father's grip and looked at the great spray of the waterfall. She twitched as the mist swirled around her face. Turbulence and Gale laughed, watching as their dragonet blew bouts of flame repeatedly into the air. Gale lifted her head and sighed. There was a roar from the palace entrance and Turbulence perked up.
He opened his mouth to say something, but Gale shook her head."I understand. Go on." She whispered. Turbulence hugged them each one more time and said goodbye just before a second roar sounded. He pressed his snout against Gale's and hurried out the entrance. He glanced back once more, suppressing his sadness inside him. Then he leaped into the airy blue and flew westward, following the rest of the SkyWing army.
Author's Note- This is a fun project! I'm trying really hard to get some of the facts straight while making up the story as what my theory is. Of course, Wings of Fire belongs to the great Tui T. Sutherland. The only thing I own is some of the characters, such as Turbulence and Gale, and the plot. Feel free to leave any reviews. I gladly take criticism. On to the next chapter!
